Yes, the is still pin trading with CMs. I've seen the most CMs with lanyard in the shops. Also, many of the shops have pin boards or pin books. There are also professional (non-CM) pin trading occasionally.

It's one of our favorite things to do, ever since our first trip 10 years ago (Has it really been that long!?) and the kiddo was too small to go on Indy, while Jade went on the ride Arty and I walked around, Saw Jasmine and Aladdin and traded some pins at a nearby shop! Our son still looks around and goes "PINS!"
Also we always buy at least one pin from a Shop. I try to get a Walt pin that I don't have (Hoping they have a cool diamond studded pin for the 60th) Jade differs everytime (Last time it was a Frozen of course.) And Arty gets a Maleifcent
