Pin Trading with a CAST MEMBER????

Is the rule still if a cast member has a pin on their Landyard then if you ask them to trade they MUST trade with you for what ever you offer????

Yes that is the rule - with 2 exceptions:

Castmembers will decline your trade if they already have the pin you are offering on their lanyard.

If they are wearing a green lanyard, they will only trade with kids.

There are a few other exceptions.

They are not permitted to trade for a pin with a name or relationship on it (such as "Bob" or "Grandmother")

They are not permitted to trade for a single pin that is otherwise part of a set and does not stand alone (such as a "2" from a 4-pin set saying "2005")

The pin must show it is a Disney pin.

Can you approach a cast member at anytime, or do they have certain location and times to trade pins?

Generally anytime, but if a CM is busy with a customer -- such as operating a register or answering questions -- it's common courtesy to wait until the other guests have been helped and that CM is free.

You can approach a cast member at any time. I am (still) teaching my children not to pester a CM for pins when they are working with another guest (like inside a store), but you can ask them anytime, anywhere.

i think that the cast members inside the hotels have some of the best pins in my hotel there was a whole book of pins you can trade for
