Pin Trading Tips

I've never traded before. Should I buy a starter kit? Should I buy one before I leave or once I get there? Sorry if this is in the wrong place...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, to trade pins you need a pin to trade. It's easy to start purchasing pins at the parks. The have pin stations at each park.

I would buy a few on ebay to save some $ and use those to trade
