I read DCL has resumed pin trading and I think my kids (DS9 and DD5) will really have fun with it. I went on Ebay to see about buying some reasonably priced pins for the kids to trade and I noticed all sorts of information, but unfortunately I don't know what pins are "tradeable". I thought it just had to be an authentic Disney pin. I know someone on this board will have all hte answers!! :sunny:

1. What is the deal with the Made in Spain? Several indicate - no Spanish in their listing.

2. What is the difference between "Trading Pins" and "Cast Lanyard Pins"

3. Are any pins not eligible for trading?

4. Anything else I should know?

Thanks for the help!

The pins you can trade have to have the disney trademark on the back.

Those pins from spain..do not, and are not tradeable.

Trading pins any of the small, metal pins (no plastic or rubber pins) with the disney trademark on the back. Cast lanyard pins are pins specially made for castmember lanyards to trade with park guests, and they do sometimes so up on castmember lanyards on the ship.

You can read more about trading on disneys official website, pinpics.com, or dizpins.com.

There is a pin sale on right now at Disneydirect.com. I just stocked up for our trip this December. The pins ended up costing my 2.12 each & they are from Disney so can be traded. :) The sets of 6-7 pins for 14.99 are the best deal. The code NEWYEAR2005 gives you 10% off and there is free shipping on orders of $60 or more. The way I look at it, I could buy 11 pins at 6.50 each on the ship or at WDW to trade or I could get them like this & have 34. The kids usually trade for lanyard or the more elaborate pins...their choice completely of what they like. If DH says anything I tell him that we will get a big return on the investment. LOL! He enjoyed helping them trade though & never had a problem taking them back to the stateroom if they forgot thier lanyard so they could trade for a pin that they saw on a CM's lanyard.
