Thanks for the advice. I've been very shy about pin trading at all, even with CMs, since a CM many years ago accused me of being a "shark." It was about 11pm during the now-defunct E-Ride night, and he made me wait 30 minutes to trade with him, because he was trying to fix a printer at the photo booth at splash mt. I could see his lanyard, and he had two pins I needed to finish my collection I had started on a trip two years before (this was only our second trip with pin trading). When he finally offered to trade, he told me that "even though the rules here [pointed to the rules he was wearing on a card on his lanyard] say you can trade me for two pins, I can tell you just want the lanyard pins so I only trade one pin with sharks like you. That's just more fair, don't you agree?"
I was so upset, DH and I left the park with me in tears, and I wouldn't trade at all for about 2 years. Because he was a manager, I thought maybe I was a bad person for wanting two lanyard pins at once, even though it wasn't to "hog" them, but to complete my collections. I finally decided I wouldn't let some Grumpy Scrooge take something I enjoyed so much out of my life...and in fact just yesterday had a CM offer me a second lanyard pin from a set I mentioned I was collecting, even though I had already traded her for one lanyard pin! (Only two more to go and I have all the Mickey Bear pins!) But, the whole experience has made me very, very shy of new pin experiences! Long story short, I really appreciate your advice! Maybe I'll try it in March!
