Pin Trading Lanyards

My 2 sons are just going to be getting into Pin Trading. Are there specific types of lanyards to buy or will any work?

Any lanyards are fine. You can go to a local dollar store and pick some up, they don't need to be disney. Personally, I bring my pins in a small zippered pouch, because I don't like the feel of a lanyard around my neck all day. Those pins can get heavy and I'm always afraid of them falling off.

Disney sells several different lanyard designs (you can see a few on DisneyStore.com). The biggest different (I've noticed) is the widths - some are thin (~1") and others are wider (~2"). Other than that, I think it's just a matter of finding one he likes. As the PP mentioned, some folks do report that the lanyards can start to get heavy. They can also get caught on things and depending on the backings you use, they can jab you in the chest if you bump into things. Some folks like to use to the locking backs to reduce the number of pins lost. In addition to lanyards, they also sell hip lanyards and mini-pin trading bags.
