Pin Trading, is it still a thing?

When my older dd's (now teens) were younger they really got into pin trading and have quite a collection of pins. For past few years of trips they haven't been into it but now I am thinking our youngest dd (4) may enjoy it. So before I dig around to try and find the old pins and lanyards for our upcoming trip is pin trading something people still do at WDW?

My kids got into pin trading last year and they had a great time trading with CMs. I would say dig out the pins and lanyards and bring them along.

My kids are 18 and 16 and still enjoy pin trading!

There is still pin trading, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as it was several years ago (I'm thinking back to a trip we took in 2009.) It seems to me that fewer cast members are wearing the lanyards with trading pins.

Two years ago they had almost the entire eating area of the dining hall at Port Orleans blocked off for a pin trading event.

Most definitely! My husband has always done it with his little brother for the past five years, and last year he got me my first set. We are in our twenties. This year, we went on our honeymoon just the two of us, and still had a lot of fun hunting down cast members and trading! Most CMs are 20-30s anyway so it was actually a cool way to meet people and chit chat. The guys at the trading post in Frontierland were actually really proud of us for keeping the tradition alive and participating as adults.

A dangle pin has a top then two small chains attach a message I have I got from Disney Cruise.Mickey on top then chains connected to small plaque says Panelist.I got picked to be in a show and was given pin by CM when I left stage.

Maybe not quite as big as it was at WDW? But, 2 weeks ago on the DCL Fantasy, pin trading was huge! Pin trading with the officers was a mad house!
