Pin Trading - is it like at WDW?

We haven't been to DL in a few years

DD's best friend is going in July and her B-Day is this weekend. We thought we would put together a DL present for her: Disney Dollars and a lanyard with some trading pins.

Is trading even done at DL????

If so, is the concept similar - CM's have lanyards(blue) for general trading and (green) trading with kids under 12?

We were going to give her a pin trading lesson along with the pins, wanted to make sure we were fairly accurate.

I've never been to WDW but have traded at DL a lot......from what I understand they are the same. I've heard you find a lot more CM's with lanyards on at WDW but i've never had a problem spotting the CM's at DL. They have the same colored lanyards, one for adults one for kids [kids is green] Have fun pin trading is such a joy!

hmmm...from what I recall from our pin trading at DL & DCA, most of the CM's lanyards are black and the "kids only" lanyards are light blue or an aqua blue color.

Etither way, you will find the CM's wearing any pin lanyard open to trading and questions about trading. When you get there just ask one of them how to tell the difference between the kids only trading lanyards.

Last time we were at DL there as a pin trading class in the main shop in Tomorrowland, but I hear that isn't happening any more. There were also ladies that wore vests with pins, hundreds to choose from. I think there was one in each park. It was fun, my son traded just to trade and converse with people, I don't think he really cared what he got.
