Kids have recently gotten into pin trading at the parks. We bought a few pins and then they would trade with cast members for whatever pin they wanted instead. None of this which pins are better or limited editions or anything like that. We haven't traded with anyone other then cast members because we are amateurs and not at all concerned with the value of the pins. It's just fun for the kids to do.

My question, do any CMs on the ship wear lanyards with pins for the kids to trade?

Thanks!

every night in the lobby from 7.30 to 8.30 they have pin trading and some of the crew is there with their laynards on .Have fun

Just like in the stores in WDW, the CM's in the stores on the ship and on CC are usually wearing lanyards. A good way for the kids to do it is to buy the least expensive pins you can find (I stock up on Ebay before we go!) then trade them for the ones they want to keep. The CM's will trade any pin on their lanyard for any Disney pin you offer, provided that they don't already have the pin you want to give them. Much better than paying 8 or 9 bucks off the rack! I have paid as little as 3 bucks for pins on Ebay and traded them for 9 dollar ones! The CM's don't care about that sort of thing so don't be shy - as long as it's a Disney pin they don't have, they'll trade with ya! You can also be assured that if it's currently on the pin rack in the stores, the CM's will have them on their lanyards at one time or another. Pin trading on the ship isn't exactly like going to Epcot, where there can be hundreds of traders, but it's still fun and it's the only place you can get certain cruise pins.

ENJOY!!

If you happen to be going on the Wonder within the next few weeks, be sure to look up Sasha from Croatia/Canada. He is the Pin King!! If you are an amateur, he will educate you. If you are a serious pin trader, you can do some major trading with him. And if you see him, be sure to tell him that Barb & Tony said "hi!" We have photos of him on our website at www,castawayclub.com (he is the only crew member on my site with his oan page) so you will know who to look out for.

I just posted a thread about pins and laynards on the pin trading board you may want to check out.
