We were last in WDW 10 years ago and pin trading was so much fun. We are going in May and I would like to do it again. It's me and my 2 DD's (20 and 31). Will we feel out of place as adults doing pin trading?

I love pin trading and haven't seen 21 in a long time. ;)

My Dh and I will be pin trading for the first time this May. I don't think we'll be out of place. I plan on trading with anyone I see, young or old :goodvibes

DBF and I both love pin trading, and we are well over 21. LOL :) He's 35 and I'll be 40 in May. :) We have no qualms about approaching CM's or other traders, we love trading!!

Hmmm this sounds good. I have a son (almost 4) and figured I would get him into it for our trip in Sept but I never thought about me...lol. Might have to get me some pins before we go too so I can trade :) thanks

2 adults here who have been pin trading at both WDW and DLR for 10 years - it's become one of our favorite things to do while on vacation - plus we have met some great CM's as well as other guests that we wouldn't have approached otherwise

I loved to pin trade (as does my Mom) as we are both well past 21. I see lots of adults doing pin trading, so I don't think you'll be or feel out of place. Have lots of fun!

Just note that when trading with a cast member, the green lanyards are for children only.

goin to b 27 this June and we are goin to WDW in June n I cant wait to trade...I enjoy it more then the kids...I trade for them n myself...:rotfl:

My wife and i (39) have been trading for about 8 years and never feel out of place. Just remember to be polite when asking cast members to see there pins. I meet a lot of interesting CM's this way and share some great pin stories. Sometimes, when you are friendly, you might get an unexpected surprise.

I am 3 times 21 and an avid pin trader (it's one of the main reasons I go to Disney). Most people are reluctant to trade with a non-cast member, but there are normally cast members (not as much as there used to be) with lanyards on that you can trade with. Plus I keep a few in my pocket for the kidlets who eye up something on my vest or come over and want to trade. they are so adorable when they want to trade but don't want to give something up. If they are younger, I normally give them the pin (that's what it is all about anyway). :goodvibes If they are older I let them trade what they want as everything on my vest is a trader.
Penny:hippie:

I always pin trade and love it but I usually only trade with CM's as I like my pins to much lol and I get to chose what pin to give away when trading with CM's :lmao:

But re the green lanyard I forgot that rule last time we were there and spotted a Bambi I liked and asked the CM with the green lanyard if I could trade. He said no obviously but was a fabulous CM as he called another CM over with a black lanyard and then told me to trade with her and gave her the Bambi I wanted. :)

I trade. I'm stockpiling traders at this time. Some CMs will use the "Disney age" to allow you to trade if they have a green lanyard. Disney age=digit one + digit two.

I've been trading since the beginning and I love it and I am in my late 30's and now I have ten 2' x 3' cork boards full of pins that I have mostly traded for plus lots more in storage bins until I buy more cork boards!

NO way! I see more adults trading than kids, lol. You'll love it, and not be out of place at all!

In December 2000, I went to WDW with my newly divorced daughter, and my then 9-year-old granddaughter. The main thing we collected that trip were photos and autographs for my granddaughter.

My last trip to WDW was in December 2005, with the same daughter, soon-to-be new son-in-law, and then 14-year-old granddaughter. I bought a stock of pins for trading, but didn't know if everyone in the family would get into it. Boy, did they! I think it was one of the highlights of our trip.

We still have 3 days left on our 7-day passes, so we'll be going back sometime in the next couple of years. I've started buying some new traders for whenever that happens. (Daughter was out of work for a year, and just went back a month ago, so it will be a while before we can afford another Disney vacation.)

i have my own pins and when at disney after i am dressed for the day my neck thing( sorry can;t remember the name of the pin holder) is the first thing that goes on me.
in fact my nephew age 8 and i plan on making pin collecting a scavager hunt our next trip each day we are going to get a pack of the cheaps you can get and say ok now today we go on the hunt for such and such. and we are gonna see what we can get. but we are only gonna trade the pins out of the package for the said pin( that make sense? I want it to be a special game just for us I;m his fun auntie) Our one rule will be you can not buy the said pin you have to trade. then if neither one of us finds one and we want it then we can buy it from one of the stores

TOO OLD FOR PIN TRADING ? ARE YOU KIDDING? AT DISNEY YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD FOR ANY THING

Late 30s here and we haven't felt awkward at all and have had cast members drift towards us pr downright flag us down to look at their lanyards :) This was mostly in stores tho during slow times and we wear our lanyards all the time!
