Has anyone here ever done this? For those who have, any pictures you could post of it? Was it worth it? Also, was it hot for the guests, or too bright for them?

Yes we did pin spotting, but only for the sweetheart table and cake table. I wanted the other tables to only have candlelight. It worked out very nicely. :)

I don't have any pics from my reception that really show it off well. This is the best I could find:

Thanks for the pictures, your reception is gorgeous! Are those real candles on your tables or the battery operated ones? I'm stuck because I was told they could only do like 3 real candles per table due to fire regulations, but the battery ones are expensive!!! I'm just trying to figure out ways to get more atmospheric lighting.

Thank You! :goodvibes

They were real candles - 6 per table. I was never told of any fire regulations (except that we couldn't have sparklers as we left). What space are you looking at for your reception? Maybe that is why there's a limit on the # of real candles per table.:confused3

Hmmm....it was at the GF ballroom. They definitely said max of 3 or 4 per table... :confused3 I guess I'll just have to suck it up and pay extra for the battery operated ones, so that I can have more of them.

I never really planned on doing pin spotting until I went for my planning session. That's where they get you! They showed me a picture of a reception with and without it and the difference is very dramatic! You may want to ask your coordinator/planner for some images in order to make up your mind. They told me that it really does give it that "WOW" factor when you walk into the room...which I think everyone is going for, right? I believe it's $125/table, so pretty steep, but maybe like kcampbell you don't do all of the tables. I was told that it really only works well with tall centerpieces, so keep that in mind. And they also said that if you do pin spotting you really don't need the candles, as they would be washed out from the direct light.

I'm sure it'll be beautiful regardless! :goodvibes

We did pin spotting on all 8 guests tables, and cake table.
It was AMAZING. Most definitely worth every dollar if you want a WOW when you and your guests walk in!!!!!!!!
