Just made a spur of the moment stop at TDS and pins are now 75% off!! Got some cute traders for the kids. Happy shopping!

Wow, good deal

Earlier this month, we traded our cheap TDS pins for some really nice ones from castmembers at the parks!

It was fun.

Good luck.

I got 8 pins for only $1.12 each! Hopefully we can make a trip to WDW so my son can trade with them!

I bought several traders AND the MMM pin bag (only $4.50 w/DC discount)!:bounce:

I stocked up, planning a family trip in a few years and will have lots of kids. Bought several lanyards when they went on sale for $2 and now I have enough extra pins so that each of them can get a really nice supply :bounce:

What's a good number of pins to take with you on a trip (planning to trade). Now I'm thinking that I should have gotten alot more, especially pins that my son will be willing to give up!

I would say at least 10, it really depends on how much the child enjoys the trading. The pins are $6 or more at the parks so $1 for the ones at the store is a great bargain. Most of the Cast Members won't have many Disney Store pins so it makes them easy to trade. If the kids really enjoy trading they may want more, the more they have the more they can trade for :)

The only thing that we found when we traded Disney Store pins the last time was that sometimes the CM's weren't familiar with some of the less popular characters on some of the pins. I'd stick with the more popular ones so there is no question they are a Disney pin :)

As long as the pins have the "Disney" copyright on the back then the cast members should have no problems trading for them whether they know the characters or not.

Our DS had the older pins: '12 Months of Magic" and "100 Years' series pins on sale for sixty-two cents - that's .62!!! Even though the sign said 75% off, the CM was kind enough to explain that the older pins really are more off.

Between those and the Music pins, I bought 17 pins - plus four "Disney Fun Seeker' T-shirts (another thread) for the next family trip for a total of $36.26 with DC discount.

Thanks for the heads up, everyone.

I was shocked today when I bought "100 Yrs" pins at .62 !!!

Disneyland traders here we come!

We got 160 pins. Our grandson averages about 10 pins a day while on vacation in WDW. So with a 11 day trip in July coming up, that should cover him. He is on his 5th album now and has been pin trading for 2 years. He'll be 9 next month and loves it.

They all traded with no problem and just one 1 or 2 CM's even said anything. Now though when I've bought pins for trading I just try to have more popular / familiar characters. Especially since my girls are the ones doing the trading and they might not understand the question. The CM's are great to trade with and would even approach the girls and offer them pins. They were a little shy at first but really enjoyed the experience. :)

Do the stores have a lot of pins left? I can't go until tomorrow since my closest store is an hour away. My kids are really into pin trading after our last trip and I would love to stock up on them.

I went yesterday to DS and bought some nice traders, with the DC discount came to roughly $1 each. (Santa Poohs, Jingle Bells, misc.)
The 62 cent pins, if I understand from others have posted on another board, was/is from the DS system not working properly. ("MMM rang up as $1.12 each and MOM rang up as $0.62 each")
Supposedly the system was to be *fixed* today. Bt many are saying they were still able to buy 62 cent pins today.
What had happened apparently was "75% off $5 is $1.25 divide that by 2 you get .62.
75% off $6 is $1.50 divide that by 2 you get .75.
SO... the YOD have had their final markdown to clearance.
(The final markdown for TDS is when they take the lowest they will go, right now nothing is supposed to go below 75% off, and divide that by 2!)"
So by error (?) I think there were actually two discounts posted to some pins, making them 62 cents each.
Someone else stated yesterday, "As of tomorrow the MMM's will be 50% off and the MOM will be 75% off!"
So, guess you just never know until you go to pay for them! ;)
