Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm a little confused on the whole pin thing. I just started going to WDW this past year and in the past when I had gone to Disneyland it was way before pin trading was big (I don't even remember if they did it at all...) well, anyway. I buy my pins because they are special to me. They are to commemorate a special event or a character I really like. I'd like to wear my lanyard next time I'm there, but obviously for those reasons I don't want to trade. Am I obligated to trade if I wear a pin or pin lanyard? Would I have to have a second lanyard with "tradeables" if I want to wear my "untradeables"? Thanks.

No, you are not obligated to trade your pins if you wear them on a lanyard. I am an amateur pin trader and although I don't wear my pins, I have spoken to lots of guests that are displaying their pins on a lanyard that they do not trade away. A little hint might be to buy some locking pin backs though so you don't accidentally lose your pins if the rubber backs fall off.

Cool! Thanks! I just wanted to make sure. I didn't want to give anyone any false impressions or do something that would make anyone mad. I will look for some of those locking backs. Is that something that I can order?

Since I saw packages of the locking backs all over the parks last week, you could probably order them through WDW merchandising, however, I don't have the contact information handy at work. I have used them before and they are very helpful on the phone. Good luck!
