Pin People

I can't seem to take a good picture of the pins :(
I will try again later....I also have some more to describe.

Yeah taking pictures of pins is a PITA. I took at least 6 just to get the one I posted.

A close up of that Mickey pin makes him look more like a cookie. Gingerbread Mickey. :confused3
Taking photos is difficult. They glare a lot. I scan mine for Pinpics, add the pin and send the scan as a file. They clean it up and resize for me.
Plus from what I have heard the mods at Pinpics can post a larger photo than us regular folks. My scanner seems to wash the color out though. The background makes a lot of difference too.

small round . Mickey glove in the center. Says mickey mouse around the circle
c Disney on the bottom
back is blank

Has me stumped. Those are so hard to find. First more than Mickey is needed for a description. It could be Glove, Hand, Parts, Clothing.... And maybe nothing related. :headache: Could even be a bootleg or something made into a pin. (I have even found earrings on CM lanyards. :sad2: )
Is the finish a regular looking pin? Epoxy coated?

Could also be it is not in Pinpics. You could try adding it. During the process you will get a list of pins already in Pinpics that are similar in description. You may be able to find it that way. If not add it, and see if anyone posts any comments about it.

Barbara yes he does look like a gingerbread cookie. I think he is cute and put the rest of them on my wants list. :rolleyes1

Under Mickey peeking I found:

Pin 66175: Mickey Mouse Cut Out

That's it!! :yay: thanks.

I found a couple more today....some days they seem easier to find. ;)
I have a hufflelump one too....but can't find the pin right now  Not sure which batch of pins it is with.
He is light purple laying on his back playing with Roo.

I will post the bluffy glove/hand picture. Maybe that will help. It might just be really old.

I have one that is not a typical Disney pin that I can't find, its a plastic Kermit head
and I got him off ebay with Miss Piggy (whom I found).

The old ones sometimes don't have a backstamp. They also are often kind of yellowed with age, or not the best quality. (Older pins when pins were just a small marketing space filler. :rotfl2: )
Just as a little pin trivia -- Do you know how the pins/trading got started big?
With the celebration Future Hand in Hand.
Pin trading -- Celebrate the future from my hand to your hand. :wizard:

Of course some of the pins near the start of the pin trading craze were Cloisonne. Good luck finding pins made of that now. Probably not gonna happen.
The cloisonne pins have a glass quality sheen look to them. Rather than the painted we see now.

I remember going to our Disney store before our first trip in Sept 2000 and I bought this pin.

pin215

I didn't buy another pin until either May or December 2002

We have some old ones from out first trip. Some are on my trades list. Each kid got one of each, then they didn't want them, so I kept one and trade the rest.
I think they had 3 or so.

That Epcot Center pin was my first one, and the one that started it all. Darn that Ebay seller. :lmao:
Even then I did not get into them until our first DL trip. Their pins were so beautiful -- and as big as belt buckles. :rotfl2: Loved them. Still do.
I came home with darn near my own pin cart.

LOL.....well, we bought that Epcot pin there....way before I ever heard of ebay or pin traders. ;)
I think I gave my spare of that one to Gaspode in one of the exchanges.

Well here is a very blurry picture....best I could do. Maybe it is enough for someone to find it

Hi

Can I be nosey & ask you guys if you buy in bulk from ebay?

I really want to buy a bulk lot for my trip (I am new to pin trading but am hooked on buying them already ) but don't know who to trust on ebay as I know you can get a load of fake one's.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Are there any pin exchanges coming up soon? It was the last one on here that got me hooked, so you are all to blame. :rotfl2: ;)

The next pin exchange is in Nov. (we just finished one up, sorry you missed it)

Go over to the collector's board. There is a thread there about ebay sellers and a list of those that are good and ones to avoid.
MountNittany is compiling it ;)
