Want to get my dd a lanyard...should I buy one off ebay or amazon or are there different ones at the parks? How much do they cost at the parks? I don't want to buy her one before we go if it's not going to be as good...she especially likes Donald...has anyone seen a Donald one at the World?

It's just a lanyard, so you could get one super cheap from anywhere. The idea is to cover the thing in pins, so you probably won't see what's underneath. Some have little keychain clips or ID holders, which I find a little silly because you won't take keys with you to WDW and probably won't have your ID around your neck.

Disneystore.com has a group lanyard for 10 bucks plus shipping. You're probably likely to find more in the parks, of course, but what I'm doing for my trip is to buy a cheap lanyard plus 25 pins off ebay, fill the lanyard up, then trade at the park. Voila. $20 or so for a fully stocked lanyard.

I needed one for work, so several years ago I got one at DLR. I assume they are the same there as they are at WDW. There were many choices too. I wear it everyday and put pins on it (the kids like that). It has held up well and they are made out of a stronger material than the cheap ones I've had before. It also has Velcro at the bottom so if caught on something and pulled hard enough, it will release for safety. I think mine was about $8 at the time.

We bought some at Party City a few years ago. They are cheaper feeling than the ones from the parks, but I think they cost around $1. They look just like the ones I saw on Amazon. :)

They had Mickey, Minnie, princesses, and Tinker Bell.

Staples has plain lanyards, I think this is what we are getting, the pins will be easier seen on them ;)

For our upcoming SURPRISE trip, I had a friend of mine buy the lanyards at the parks as some of them are very soft and others are not. We got them for $9.95 each and they are indeed very soft.

Your kids will love pin trading! I personally think it is one of the best souvenirs we bought. We bought a starter kit at the outlet store and then I would pick up a few pins each trip for cheap for her to exchange. It kept her from asking for lots of other stuff. :cool2:

I would definitely get the lanyards at the parks because they are meant for pins while the cheaper ones aren't and could rip or not hold all your pins right. They're $9.95 each and they have tons of different ones with characters! I also really recommend going on ebay and buying a pin lot before a trip! Just make sure to check the reviews for the seller and make sure they have a return policy just in case! I got a lot of 25 for $15 and it was so great to be able to trade and not think about having an attachment to any of the pins!

You may consider a starter lanyard. When were were there a couple of weeks ago you could get a starter lanyard which included 8 pins for $19.99 with a $40 purchase.

I forgot what mine looks like just because there is no open space on it because of the pins. If you are planning on putting lots of pins I would recommend buying online because they are less money. But at disney you can get a starter pack that comes with multiple pins and they have Donald starter packs.
