PIN codes?

I read often about people receiving PIN Codes from WDW.
My wife and I are Annual Members and visit 4-5 times/year in our 5th Wheel to the FW Campgrounds, and have never received a PIN Code. Whats the deal with them?

The real reason people get PIN codes is a mystery. We can only speculate here on the boards.

The general consensus is that PIN offers are used to encourage those who do not travel to Disney frequently to come back. I went several times in 2009, and then in 2010, I ended up renting points from DVC members for three trips. So to Disney, it was like I hadn't been in a year. Lo and behold, I started getting PIN codes.

So the fact that you visit so often is probably the reason why you never get PIN codes. Disney knows you will be coming anyway, so why offer you a discount?

Agree with pp. Try skipping a year or two and see what happens. (Be sure to order the current planning DVD, and all the other potential triggers as well.)

And just because you don't get one in the mail doesn't mean there isn't one in the computer associated with your name. I read on here last year about having a PIN code attached to someone's name in the Disney computer and all they did was call and ask. So I called and asked, and there was one attached to my name. It was a free dining PIN code but the dates on it weren't the dates for when we were going, so I didn't use it.

But if I am not mistaken they don't offer discounts for camp sites and you can't get free dining if you are staying at a camp site.

I agree that WDW doesn't send pins to frequent guests. We go once or twice a year, and never get pin codes, even though I've signed up for everything I could on the WDW web site, order the planning DVD, etc. But i do go during times WDW typically offers the deepest discounts, Value season in Aug & Jan. I don't think the pin code discounts are any better then what's been offered. Maybe just more dates?
