Pin codes?????

I keep seeing people talk about pin codes. What the heck are they and how can I get one???

A PIN code is an offer that goes out by postcard or email and can only be used by the person who's name is on it. There is a unique PIN (personal Identification number) on each one so it can't be shared with others. And when you call they can see if the offer was sent to you so you can't just give them someone else's PIN. Sometimes people have been able to call disney and ask if they have a PIN attached to their name and have been told they do and were able to book with it. Others have reported being told that if they can't give the PIN they can't book the offer. Seems to depend on who you talk to.

The frustrating thing about these sometimes is that if you booked reservations for others you will sometimes get PIN offers sent to you but in their name. I get them for my mom all the time. When went together our first trip and I booked the whole thing getting their room in her name but under my address and email. She has been on her own since then so they should have her address and email but I still get things in her name. She gets them also so I have no idea how they do it.

How you get them is somewhat of a mystery. If you read the Codes and Rates board you will different theories on how to get on their radar. One of the most popular is to sign up on the disney.com website and opt in to all of their things they want to send you. Some have also said they log in there and go through the process of booking a trip and then save it without booking. They can't send you an offer if they don't know you exist so you want them to have your email and address.
