PIN Codes

It has been awhile since I have been on the site but I have a few questions about the PIN codes.

We recently had started talking about taking another trip to WDW this coming September. We were there at the same time of year and really enjoyed the crowd levels and the weather. We are also aware of the fact that there is a good possibility of free dining being offered this fall.

I just received an email for a PIN for 40% off deluxe resorts.The offer is good from April until June.

I was looking for some feedback to some more experienced travellers on a couple of issues:

1. Are they offeirng PIN codes for the fall or are they just sticking to winter and spring?

2. What would be a better deal, the 40% off or free dining?

3. Can you upgrade free dining from the basic offer to the deluxe package for an extra cost?

4. When would the crowd levels be better, the third week of May or the second week of September?

I understand that this is a lot but I appreciate any help in hte matter. Also, I apologize if this is in the wrong category.

I can answer the question about the free dining and the answer is yes! On our last trip to Disney, we received the free dining and then we upgraded to Deluxe and paid the difference. OMGOSH, we LOVED it. I can't imagine not going on Deluxe dining again! If they offer free dining again, I will be happy to upgrade!

I received a pin code for this fall, and have booked the Poly for 40% off. I have heard of free dining Pin Codes for September as well.

If you are staying at a deluxe resort the 40% off will probably be better than FD. (For us staying at the Poly 40% off is definitely the better deal).

Yes you can upgrade the Free dining to a higher dining package and just pay the difference. (I did this last year).

Personally I would think that September would be less crowded. We have travelled both May and September and September was a lot less crowded. We were able to ride some rides multiple times with no wait at all!

While I haven't seen one personally , people have reported codes into the fall.

Depends on :
a) how many people in your party
b) what level of resort you stay at

40% off at a deluxe is generally speaking better than free dining for 2 ppl but perhaps not if you have 4 adults .. (over the age of 10 years)

I believe you can yes.

4. When would the crowd levels be better, the third week of May or the second week of September?

Free dining attracts lots of ppl.. probably pretty close but I'd pick May myself. But then I've always thought free dining was over-rated. (shh.. don't tell everyone else on the DIS.)

Seriously, I just wish they would send me a pin code....I didnt get a bounceback when I went in Nov. Now I am waiting for a pin so that I can book a vacation for my 40th birthday in August. I dream of the Poly and I need that pin!!!!

Thanks for the help. It is just two of us going and we are planning on staying at one of the deluxe resports(that is another debate in itself). We are still leaning towards September since I have more time off in September than in May but if it was a much better deal for the spring we would have to really look at it.

We did the deluxe dining last year and some of the signature dinners we had were definetely highlights on the trip. I think we would be hard pressed not to upgrade again this year.
