My cousin received a pin code today. She already has a reservation. When she called to have them add the discount the lady said they didn't have any rooms available. I thought when you got a pin code they could just add it to your existing reservation.

They can only add it to your reservation if that category of room is "in stock" for that discount. Not all categories are allocated and not all inventory is included either. For example: Of 25 water view rooms, they may decide to only offer it for 5 and those 5 could have been claimed already.

This exactly :)

When I booked using my pin code earlier today I clicked on the link in the email. Signed in when it prompted me to and completed the booking. I then went in to my existing reservation and cancelled it once I had confirmation that I had the new reservation.

She tried that it was making her upgrade to a different room

Same thing happened to me :( Waited over an hour to talk to someone, and then they couldn't even add the pin to my already existing reservation. Super upset considering I also missed out on free dining because they didn't have any left for my room type.

I got my first code today as well. When I clicked on the link and put in what I wanted, the rates are almost exactly the same as the current "back to school" rates. Meh.

It seems a lot of times there are less standard rooms available at the lower rate, so you have to upgrade views to get it. But sometimes if you are going to pay x amount for a standard room, it is at least worth it to pay that same x amount and get preferred, (if amoderate).

That's true. She's staying at the Caribbean beach standard room

I got a pin today and went through the link to see if its a better deal than what I have no, but its exactly the same. Why offer an "exclusive" pin if its the same discount that is given to everyone anyway?

Ok, then if the price is the same, but she can get the preferred instead for the same rate, then there is some value in that. Last trip I ended up with a preferred POR for what I was going to pay for a standard room. I found the location pretty convenient, and I didn't have to beg for a good spot.

My pin code covers dates not covered by the other offers. Hoping I can make it work.

My exact same experience! I was thrilled to get this UOC!! I went immediately to the code, which took me to what appeared to be the exact Disney website with all of the existing offers. Nothing different at all, including the same dates the current offers show. And of course many resorts are completely unavailable or not available for my dates.

LAME, Disney.

There are two different Disney Destination emails going around today, I got both of them. One is just basically an ad that links you back to the current offer page, and the other is a UOC for 30% off room only with similar dates to free dining. We are booked 12/17 - 23, added free dining on Monday, and then today we changed from that to the UOC instead.
If it's the 30% off code, it should tell you that without you having to click on the offer...I ALWAYS have issues using the link embedded in whatever email I get with a code, so we always call. If you have a code but the link didn't show you anything, try calling and giving them the numbers/letters of your code, and they can see what it's for. We were on hold for an hour tonight, so the phone lines are super busy, but we saved almost $1200 without sacrificing our room category or dates, which to us was worth the wait time.

Yes, we got both the 30% off ON SELECTED RESORTS and free dining offer - with the UOC attached to our name and all that. The links worked for me, put the code in the correct box, etc, but it only offered us $50 a night off of our AoA ressie - the FD is a much better deal for us, so we're keeping that. I might call and see if the offer a better deal on the phone than they did online, but I kinda think we did the best we could already. But you never know! ;)
