Pin Code Frustration

I received the 25% pin code last week and just called to see if it's a better deal than my current reservation. Evidently, the marketing people sent it to me when it should have gone to a Rachel in North Carolina somewhere. They won't honor it even though it was emailed to me. I know that technically it's not mine but I hoped they'd honor it or give me a different discount. But nope.

Oh well, at least I'm still going.

Try calling back and talking to someone else. Seems really strange to get a pin code emailed directly to you and they won't honor it.

That's what I thought--I told them I'd screenshot, forward, anything to show that the email was sent to me by Disney Destinations. Guess it can't hurt to try :-)

I'd call them back and lecture them on decent IT practices. There is no reason for an email meant for someone else to be sent to you - that's a heck of a goof. What incompetence led them to use the wrong email address for this other person? And depending on the info they gave you about Rachael in NC over the phone, they could be on the verge of what most organizations consider a security violation (name and address is enough to be a violation).

Yipes, I hadn't thought of that! I did call back but the wait time was 30 min--tried the online chat just in case someone could help but it was a no go. I'll call again tomorrow and hopefully report back with some good news.

I called in Friday about a Dvc gift card and the phone number that showed up on his end was something not even close to mine and the name was wayyy offf.

I've had the same thing going on for more than 2 years. Apparently my husband's email is somehow linked to someone else, even though he's had it for years and we had booked several trips with it. I've gotten several pin codes and nope, they will not let you use them.

When I had my wedding in Disney in 08' all of my families reservations were linked to my e-mail address. 9 years later I still receive pin codes for all of them and I've never been permitted to use a single one. =(

I'd call and ask to be removed from all their lists. Give it some time and then call and get back on their mailing lists. Maybe it will reset in their system if you delete yourself out and then sign up like you're new. It's not like they're mailing you anything you can use right now anyway.
