Pin Code/Free dining/MNSSHP

Okay first let me say: OMG OMG OMG OMFG I got a pin code!!!

Right, now then, back to sane. We're hoping to go in October or September for the Not So Scary Halloween Party. We're Disney Visa Card Memebers. Last year there was a promo for free Dining with any stay in the fall. Does anyone remember if that was a stay in September or September and October?

The MNSSHP dates have not been posted, but the postcard with my PIN Code tells me to book right away. Should I guess about when the dates for the party will be and book right away? Or can I wait on the PIN Code? If I do book right away can I change the dates and still apply the PIN Code?

Once I've booked, if the promo for free dining comes out can I apply it retroactively? Can I use it with the Pin Code? (please say yes!)

You can not use both the free dining promo and a pincode..you need to choose on or the other.Free dining should be announced for bookings earl y April.The dates are usually for trips MId-late August till Mid -late Sept. Last year the promo ended 9/20/08.The Disney Visa free dining special was something new for 2008, and there is absolutely no way to know if they will do it again this year.Last year it was not announced by Disney Visa till Sept.

Congrats on getting a pin code! Last year, the fall free dining promo dates for Disney Visa cardholders were Sept. 28-Dec. 20, but there were blackout dates. You may NOT use both the 40% off pin plus free dining, if it comes out again. You would need to price it both ways and see which is the better deal. If you book now using your pin, and a better discount becomes available, you can modify your reservation to reflect the new discount. (As long as your dates and resort are available, of course!) That is what I did last year with our Christmas trip. I had booked a passholder w/dining package, but the Disney Visa promo was a better deal so I called and had it modified.

As to MNSSHP, you can look at last years dates to get an idea as to when the 2009 parties will be. I think the pin has to be used by March 31 (it should say when it expires in the email). If you book now, you can switch your dates around up until whenever the code expires. (likey March 31) The party dates probably won't be out by then, though. So check the 2008 dates and make your best guess. Good luck!
