I have about 170 pins now, got addicted in 2006 in wdw and now i have to buy them every time we go. i only get the ones that mean something to me, my fave rides, castle ones, ones with the year on, mickey ones, minnie one basically them all i will get a pinpic account when i get a spare second...

we found london disney pins in the disney store in covent garden the other day...

Wow, yes please - that would be quite interesting to see if POTC is much like some of the other rides, or if there's actually something backstage.

well a few more arrived from the US this morning hehe including a special box of 2 star wars pins that were "suprise" ones relased by disney a while back. they come in a box sealed as 2 pins so you dont know what you're getting. I got mickey as luke and stich as the emporer up to 26 or 28 pins now. had to slow down a bit as we got a bad car bill this week.

Seems there are alot of us folk about that collect pins. I've muted the idea before but what does everyone think about a pin meetup in the UK to show off/trade etc?

Im up for a pin meet, there was one in the south of england at the end of june, It was on the pincast podcast (a great pin trading podcast).
How about a sticky with peoples pinpics user names? That way we know we are trading within England? I get loads of requests but from the USA and I dont fancy trading over the pond just yet.

Wow great collection!! I have a couple of those too.

Don't worry... I don't think you've reached addiction yet. My and my sister have just bought 200 between us for our trip to WDW, and I have another 40 odd just for trading.

My collection reaches about 120 now. Oh, and apparently, look out for pins in the UK disney stores UK people. They might just be in the major stores though.

Now thats a lot of pins!!!!! Bet you have some really amazing ones.

Sounds like a good idea! I think it's about time pin trading become more popular/well known in the UK lol.

Well i have decided that im not going to collect lots of stitch pins, but im collecting Tinkerbell and Princesses. DD also told me today she wants Mickey pins so looks like im going to have to try and get some Mickey pins for her before we leave for DLP.

Thanks Originally I just bought them as souvenirs so had one from each trip with the year on (from WDW and DLP), oh and a wedding one from WDW and Christmas one from DLP because they signified each trip.

Last year at DL California I also picked up a few just because I liked them - mainly 'classic' Disney stuff (partners, Walt, old Disneyland sign). Then recently at DLP I bought even more just because I liked them!

Boo came from DL (although I have noticed today that on my one, one of the 'eyeballs' on her suit isn't painted black!), Stitch TOT was from the starter set at DLP I bought to get the TOT lanyard to hang them on at home, and Daisy was also bought in DLP a couple of weeks ago.

The problem is that I don't want to trade any of the ones I've got so far (except the Stitch which holds no special memory) as they are all souvenirs - I have actually only traded one so far (the other Stitch starter one, and I 'lost' the others from the starter set to my daughter!). She did more trading than me, but we only started on our last day.

I have just ordered a pack from eBay to use as traders - I have no idea how good they'll turn out to be, or whether I'll get stung for a customs charge, but there's only one way to find out!
