Pilot Menu at Le Cellier, similar to The French Menu at Chefs de France

A cheap appy but they you must take a cheaper entree too? NO THANK YOU! lol I will just pay for my cheese soup out of pocket if I want it and still get the more expensive entree and better dessert at that! Those choices are just not very impressive at all, imo! Certainly not a great value.

I hope this remains just an option and not what you have to choose on the ddp.

When I saw this new menu last week the first thing that came to mind was.....hmmm I wonder if they are going to require people using the DDP to order from this preselection section! just a thought.

Yes, we ate here last week and saw the new menu section at the top. I thought it was interesting and the server pointed it out. I didn't see any savings, though. We were there for lunch, so no steaks on the menu, mostly sandwiches.

No steaks on the lunch menu for LC? That's strange...the online menus are showing the mushroom filet and the New York strip, as well as halibut and salmon. Have they changed the lunch menu? If none of those are available at lunch, I'd probably go with the prime rib on the pilot menu, then, but I wanted to try the mushroom filet.

We have a lunch ADR next month and I was looking at the mushroom filet as well...can anyone confirm that it is or isn't on the lunch menu?

Prime Rib is the same cut of meat as the ribeye, just prepared differently. (In the oven vs. the grill)

Prime Rib is good, but it is a fatty cut of meat, so people who do not like fat probably won't like it as much.

I beleive LC will sear the Prime Rib on a grill for you if you request, this makes it more like a steak, even though it isn't.

Do you remember the price and food options for lunch?

My take on it is that she was talking about the lunch Pilot menu.

Except she said there were no steaks, mostly sandwiches...and there are no sandwiches on the Pilot Menu. It's all good though, she clarified on another thread for me that there are still steaks served at lunchtime. Makes me happy, because we couldn't get a dinner ADR, only lunch.

We ate there earlier this month on the dining plan & I opted to pay the extra $5+ for the cheddar cheese soup & go ahead and get the filet mignon. It wasn't part of the preselected menu...

We ate there last week and the choices on the top of the menu that include appy, dinner, and desert are all very good. The cheddar cheese soup is a bowl of soup not just a cup, the prime rib was big and wonderful and the desert of choice was the choc. mousse for me. There are at least 3 or 4 choices for the appys and the desert and several for the dinner. They do not require you to order the entire meal at the beginning. They take the order just like you are ordering from the regular menu. The ddp works really well since I would have paid for the soup anyway and probably only ordered a cup but ended up with a bowl. My husband and I mixed and matched the desert since I really didn't want any included in the package meal but he wanted the choc. mousse so I ordered that and he ordered cheesecake and we just switched. The waitress saw us do it and there was no problem at all. The biggest savings was not paying for the appy.

Are you allowed to share off the pilot menu? We will not be on the dining plan, so we are planing on sharing meals at most TS places.

The mushroom filet is on the lunch menu.

The chefs selection menu at lunch was different...(as of Aug 21st)

Cheese Soup
Tomato Stack
Duck Confit

Ravioli
Salmon BLT
Prime Rib Sandwich

Creme Brulee
Chocolate Mousse
Seasonal Sorbet

I'm 99% sure there was at least 1 more entree offering but I cant recall what it is.

I was planning on doing the same thing!!! I want to try this fillet everyone is talking about, hubby is a Prime Rib lover, so I figured he could get the plan we can both try the soup (another thing we have heard so much about!), we get the meals we wanted anyway, then trade deserts because I want the chocolate mousse and he can try something different (which is our rule, everyone gets a different dessert and we all trade tastes!!!) Kids want steaks, not sure about DD13 or grandma and grandpa, they can decide there... Great minds think alike!!!! :worship:
