Pillowcases...will they still take them?

I have heard from one cruiser that guest services refused to take pillowcases for the characters to sign. Has anyone on the Magic been able to leave theirs to be signed lately?

I know someone from our May 8th Magic cruise that did this and did not have a problem. I know other posters here who have been refused. I would recommend that you try and if the results are not to your liking, try again later with a different CM. Good luck. - Mike

You will get different answers from different CM's. On the May 15 cruise, we went to the customer service desk (or whatever they call it) & was told NO multiple times by different CMs. They claimed that they recently received notice to no longer accept them.

Then during an autograph session w/the characters I was stopped by a CM while in line saying they would not sign them, only paper. I was about to go off on her when she said, I will take them & have them signed & you can pick them up at the customer service desk on Friday evening.

Went & picked them up on Friday evening. They were both signed, only downside was they kept the entire pack of Sharpies we had in the zip-lock bag w/the cases... OH WELL it was worth the cost of a pack of sharpies!!!

I'm 18 and this is my going to be my first time going to WDW and the cruise, as part of the Land/Sea vacation from the Children's Wish Foundation. I'm going with my family.

My question is: how do we hand over the pillowcases and markers on the Wonder? Do we give them in a bag? Do we label or write a note on a piece of paper with the name we want on the pillowcase? Do we tell them which characters we want to have sign it? Do we give any id of where we're staying (room number)? Do we give FULL name or only FIRST name? Will they do this for me even if I'm 18 or is it only for younger kids? Where exactly do we hand the pillowcase over?

Also, where/how can we get the Captain to sign something? What do we give and how do we go about having it done? And, as above, do we label and include details of who we are, where we're staying, names, etc.?

My parents are wondering about all these character events because they're saying I'm probably too old for them and that I won't belong there or fit in. Is this true? Have any of you had any experiences with signings or even characters breakfasts and other related things where only adults/much older teens attended with no little kids? Did they treat you differently or like you didn't belong there?

Any answers would be appreciated.

Angelstar-

You are never too old. Many times I have had them sign the autograph books for my kids and nobody cared at all. You should go enjoy yourself and don't think twice about it.

Just put the pillowcases in a bag with the markers and include a slip of paper with your last name and stateroom number. Drop them off at Guest Services as early in the week as possible. When we did it we got signatures from every character on board.

Sorry-I can't answer your question about the Captain's autograph.

Enjoy yourself!

not sure about the Wonder but on the Magic the Captain was in Treasure's Ketch signing trading cards, autograph books, etc. and taking pictures on Thursday afternoon. :)

I was on the 4/17 Eastern and I just gave them a pillowcase with my son's name on it, no bag, no pens. They signed it in all different colors and it looks great. I picked it up on the last night, no problem.

You are definately not too old....I am 45 and I always stop to get my pic taken with the characters!!!

Because you are travelling with a Wish program they may take your pillowcases...but lately the answer has been no from Guest Service that they will no longer be accepting things for character signatures...as I said..in your case it may be different. You can take your item directly to the characters during one of the sessions with no problem.

Also, every Thursday on the Magic (they also do it on the Wonder, just not sure what time) the Captain will have an autograph session in Treasure Ketch. It lasts about an hour. Get there early because the line can get long. He will sign one or two items per person but I would not ask for more as he must get through many, many people. Check your personal navigator for exact times.

Good luck and have fun!!!

Thanks to EVERYONE for your answers and info! Much appreciated! :D

And, all these times for the many happenings on the ships, such as the different character signing sessions (as well as even for where we're supposed to go for breakfast and lunch each day, when we see our show, etc.), ALL of that info will be on the Navigator? Is it a really thick booklet then, or written in very small font?

I'm so new to this and I have no idea what to expect, so I hope everyone doesn't mind me asking so many questions.

Thanks again!
