I read on some previous posts that there was an opportunity to drop off a pillowcase and marker at guest services early in the cruise and they would return it to you signed by all of the characters at the end of the cruise. Is this still occurring??

This would be a great help, because our family tends to stress a little... (okay a lot) about collections, and I would hate to have to stress about possibly missing some of the characters. Thanks

We were on the 9/27 Wonder and Guest Services was more than gracious about getting them signed. I put them in a Ziploc with a Sharpie and wrote our last name and room number on the outside - they were ready for pick-up 10:30 pm the last night. Some other people had photos and shirts done.

We are just off the Magic on 10/2 and we had no trouble getting a pillowcase autographed by the characters. I dropped it off to guest services when we embarked and our stateroom steward delivered it to us on Friday night. (I believe they will do one per child.) I also had ours in a ziploc baggie with multicolored sharpies; they had me take my sharpies back. Many characters signed it, front and back-various colors. DD 5 hasn't stopped sleeping on it since we got home-you know-"Disney Dreams" and all.... princess:

Do you use the regular size sharpie's or the big ones? how long are the signatures lasting? How do you wash it? So many questions and so little time!

we bought a laundry marker. wash the pillowcase before you take it to get out the sizing chemicals. If you use a regular sharpie it will bleed. It usually says that sharpies are not for fabric. A laundry marker works great and won't fade or wash out.

We are putting an iron on onto the pillowcase as well to match our door sign.

I have 3 kids, 2 of which will be on the cruise with us.

Will they sign a pillow case for my other child that can't cruise?
That would be 3 cases in all.

I did one for my daughter (who cruised) and one for my niece (that did not cruise) - no one questioned me. I would think if there is some over-the-top request from one person, it might raise some eyebrows.

I requested to have two signed; one for a best friend of my daughter's and one for my daughter; was told by the guest services that only one could be done per child on cruise. I had one child on cruise, one pillowcase was signed. Suppose it depends on who you speak with at guest services. :sunny:

Is this okay? I bought only 3 colors. Black, blue and red. Are other colors better. Any color ideas?

Where do you get laundry markers and do they come in different colors?

I have only seen laundry markers in black. At Walmart, they were unexpectedly found in the office supply aisle with pens, highlighters, etc. Hope this helps!

I sell Sharpies for a living...isn't that a funny job? I think they work great on fabric!

Jan 2004, we put 12 different color sharpies in a bag w/name and stateroom, they only used black...not sure if it was our Sharpie or not.

We did not wash the pillowcase first (sounds like a great idea!) and we have washed all the pillowcases each week since we have been home.

They all still look great...we love them....even DS15 loves his (he would never tell his friends this though).

One of the activities in the Kid's Club was to color a DCL W/Goofy small (airplane size) pillow case with pillow included.

I snagged this when DD wasn't looking and brought it to Guest Services to have signed. It was ready the next day and I just laid it back on the bed and told DD that while we out the characters came into our stateroom and signed it for her. Her eyes lit up.

I think this time I will bring a regular size. They really are a great (and free) souvenir.

Hello! We were on the 10-2 Magic cruise, and got our pillow case signed. Left it at guest services, and picked it up the morning we left. The kids loved it! Esp since they were so bummed they had to leave, we were able to get them to smile one last time!

On our May '04 cruise, guest services would not accept anything to be signed. They said they just received a notice to no longer accept them. We did end up getting them signed, but it was a struggle. I am glad they are doing them at guest services again. :D

Hello we were on the wonder on 9-12, we had a pillowcase done for my DD4 and our friend with no child had one done too for DH's birthday. He's a big Goofy fan. We made the pillowcases ourselves and washed them. We then put them in a clear ziploc with sharpies our name and room #. No one questioned us on how many kids we had, so it seems to be on a per situation basis. Hope this helps. Here is a pic for an idea.

Guest Services was more than happy to sign a plain white shirt for my daughter when we were on the 10-25 Magic. Hope this helps.
