I saw this super adorable Disney Character iron on transfer for a pillow case and I was wondering if the characters would sign it? Would they be able to because it is fabric?

I just thought it would be a neat souvie and something DS would have forever.

It does make for a neat souvenir. It takes a little work on your part though. You need to either put something inside the pillowcase, so the markers won't bleed through; or you can bring an embroidery hoop and hoop the area where you want the characters to sign. That makes for a nicer signature, but it a lot of work for you and very difficult in places where there are more than 1 character because you don't have time to re-hoop.

I've also heard mixed reviews about fabric pens. Some say you NEED them and others have said that a Sharpie works just as well. Just be careful when you hand these to the characters. You want to be sure not to get it on their fur or clothing.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Yes, I have done this the last 2 trips and it has always been a huge hit. My kids love sleeping with thier fav characters. Here are my tips. You must use fabric markers---available at Joanns or other fabric or craft stores. Also take a clip board so it is a steady surface for the characters to write on and so the marker doesn't bleed through the other side.

I have done this twice and I just made a new one for our trip next month.
I use an embroidery hoop to hold the fabric taut; I tried using a clip board but it did not go so easily. I also used Sharpie markers and have had no problems with the ink running.

Snubie, WHERE did you get that fabric? I've seen it a couple times on people's projects but I can't find it anywhere!

Cute! I was thinking of doing something like this for my DD. There are only so many times to use the autograph books now it's time to get creative:)

I bought that lime green swirly fabric maybe 2 years ago at Joanns. I have not seen it since. Sorry.

That looks awesome! Ah, the coveted mickey head swirl. :) I was thinking of doing photo mats for the characters to sign but I think my littlest ones might like pillowcases better.

This sounds like an awesome idea. I think we might do it on our upcoming trip.

We've done a pillow case as well, and they were fine about signing it.

We put heavy cardboard behind one section at a time and clipped it with binder clips, but once a character (I think it was Tigger) actually motioned for us not to clip it, and had 2 of us stand up and stretch the whole thing out taught for him. It made a big production out of the signing, and was really funny.

If you use Sharpie, just make to sure to give it a run in the dryer to set it before you use and wash it.

Where would I get a Disney Themed Iron on?
