Pillow Case question

Lots of people have designs for pillowcases. My question is....what is the point of a pillowcase? Do you use it for autographs, do you sleep on it? I'm sure this is a dumb question to some of you, but I don't get it? LOL!

Most people use them for getting autographs especially for character meals or on cruises. They aren't the best for sleeping on as most transfer paper is slightly stiff and doesn't wash well, but they are super cute for putting on beds as decoration.
