Pig n Pirate take Paris.

Howdy!

Thought I'd start my trip report so y'all didn't think I'd forgotten you!

The deal:

Me and the other half (hereafter known as Pig) have been having a few issues lately and her birthday is coming up so thought I'd surprise her with a trip, however, obviously, being a Disney freak I wanted to link it to Disney. Having looked at the money (and the number of holiday days I had available) I figured Florida was not going to happen so looked at Disneyland Paris and managed to get a good deal. She knows absolutely nothing about it yet so everyone shhhhh!!!

So, guess I better introduce the main players:

Stacey, 23 (nearly 24), Kitchen Manager, loves football (ok, ok soccer), dogs, chinese food and the sunshine.

Me, Heather, 29, Complaints Manager, loves rugby, disney, skulls, Jack Skellington, music and I guess I'm what you'd call a joiner...if there is something going on, I'll be there in the middle, organising. I'm a cancer survivor and I have paralysis of my right leg so I'm a bit slower than most but I get there.

Christine and Larry...Stacey's mum and dad. They are integral to the plan, Christine will be driving Stacey to Liverpool airport without her guessing, somehow!

We went to Florida for the first time together last year and found she isn't too happy about rides but she'll give them a go:

Nice beginning! Great photos! I'm not much of a whizzer ride person either, so I can sympathize with the expression! LOL.

So...only 5 more days to go and I think I'm doing well so far. She now knows that she is off this weekend since her roster came out but she isn't happy about it because she figures her boss will make her work extra next week...I'm so evil mwahahaha (he's promised me he won't!).

I'm doing damage limitation at the moment...since she knows she is off she has been looking at hotels in the lake district for a night away...I've been acting like a bit of a brat and saying we can't afford it and I don't want to go, plus the weather is shocking here right now with a lot of rain. So, if we're still together on Friday it will be a miracle because I don't even really like myself lol.

So...day before and I'm still doing well...managed to keep the secret! Excited!

Well...thought I'd update!

We got to the airport, Stacey was already there and pretty confused. I handed her an envelope with all the trip details in and her little face lit up...it was amazing!

We went through security pretty quickly and went and had dinner. The board was saying 55 minute delay so we did what every sane person would do and order two large cocktails...daquiris in case you're interested...then we headed to have a look round the stores.

Anyway whilst in the book store we hear Flight EZY7045 to Charles De Gaulle has been cancelled. Please attend gate 8.

Well, we were floored...gutted didn't even cover it. So we boarded a bus which took us to arrivals and we had to clear immigration!!! Stacey was not amused but I managed to keep her calm whilst we got through. Apparently this was a fall out from the French atc strikes but these finished over twelve hours before so I think it was more bad planning on the case of Easyjet...

So, we rebooked to go on 15-17 October, which is actually good because 17 October is Stacey's 24th birthday so we'll try again then

We ended up going to Wales for the weekend...will post pictures of this later.

Wow. That really stinks, having it cancelled that way!

However, it could end up being much better what with the reschedule encompassing her birthday!
