PIF dates vs Booking dates

DCL just pushed back another round of PIF dates, which is great, but how many of you are using the later PIF date vs the earlier booking windows if you are Platinum/Gold whatever so that you can get one of the reduced capacity excursions, Palo, tastings, or whatever. Or is all that moved back as well? We will have 1 unvax kid (as of now's reality) so excursions are the only way to get off the ship.

And is this today's version of timing: We are gold
105 - can book excursions, tastings, Palo (still have to be PIF to book?)
60 - PIF date
30 - kids club

What did I forget?

We are on one of the cruises with this new extension. Our PIF date was March 27th so now it's been pushed back til end of May. However, if we want to book excursions, Palo etc we need to be PIF by April 11th which is the day our booking window opens.

I guess it just depends if you want to book any activities or excursions at your gold booking date. For our October cruise, we paid early so we could book excursions (then the itinerary changed and we didn’t do any excursions). For our 2 cruises next month on the dream, we paid at 60 days - we didn’t book any activities or excursions early.

We almost always book last minute and have little interest in booking tastings/Palo etc so unless they add something else I don’t see us paying in full “early”

For me, the advantage of the moved PIF date is the refundability. I don’t care if I pay a month earlier—it’s not like interest rates are so awesome that I’m giving up much by keeping that money in my bank account for just 30 days. Missing out on an excursion, spa treatment or brunch though would be disappointing. So I am still paying in full before 90 days when I can book as silver.

We’re platinum and could care less about booking activities. We are about 10 days away before my 60 day window to be PIF for my February cruise. My daughter has been sick for weeks. I’m giving her the opportunity to decide what she wants to do. Basically you have to decide what’s important To you. We are part of the done that crowd and we even get Palo free, but don’t even go anymore. I see I have the extension for my May cruise and both my September cruises (b2b) so will forego the booking window and delay payment .

Yes, you have to be PIF to book.
Our May cruise booking date is coming up in mid-January for Platinum. We will be PIF before the booking date because we want Palo/Remy reservations and a few tastings. We're paying with Disney GC, have cruise insurance, and this is just one step we want to be completed early.

This is our situation as well. We will PIF by our normal platinum booking date so we can book Palo and any high-demand excursions. We would still have the option of canceling or moving the cruise up to the 60-day point if our circumstances change. I’m getting ready to PIF for the first Hawaii cruise on the Wonder for just this reason, even though PIF was delayed for those cruises at an earlier date.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if the shoreside concierge request date is based on whether you’re PIF? Other than a cabana, it’s mostly things like dining requests.
