Pictures taken by cm's in Mk and AK?

I read somewhere that for the first few hours of the parks being opened you have the opportunity of having your family picture taken by a CM. Then later in the day you can go and buy it somewhere.
Can anybody tell me anything about this for MK and AK. When, where , costs, do they also offer anything else like the picture on t-shirts, key chains. etc.

Any info. would be appreciated.

There are photographers that will take your picture with the castle in the background, the Epcot ball, tree of life, you get the picture....

They are also available at some character greetings like Mickey, Lilo & Stitch, ect.

Anyhow, they'll give you a claim ticket or card and you'll go to the photo shop in that park. Usually 90 minutes or later after the photo. Anyhow you can purchase different sizes and packages of the pictures. We almost always buy a few. I don't recall seeing tshirts or mugs though.

This sounds like a great gift idea for family members back home (grandparents, good friends etc). Since we will be leaving WDW right before Christmas, I think I will buy several for Christmas gifts. Anybody have any idea where I could locate a price sheet or any more info. would be appreciated.

We pick up a few pictures every trip too. I love the ones that we had done last year in December. We have one from AK with Mickey over at Camp Minnie Mickey where he is dressed for the holidays. We have a great one from MK where Tinkerbell made a special surprise appearance. We have one from AK in front of the ToL. Then we also have our pictures from MVMCP's. All in all, those pictures are priceless to us.

I believe that the photo centers do offer some options like putting the images on mugs and stuff, but we did not buy anything other than the photographs by themselves.
