I have read about the pictures that are taken on board by crew members. Are they very expensive? What type of packages to they have? I love pictures, but I don't want to carry a camera with me all the time.

The 6x8 pics are $9.95 a piece and I believe they have a 10 pic package that runs $89.95 ..... Andy

The more formal portraits, maybe 10"x12" are ~$20.0o, and they don't offer a package for these.

The cool thing about the pictures is there is no copyright on them, so when you get home, you can make them into the photo Christmas cards, or just make duplicates for whatever reason you want them for (i.e. scrapbooking.) Somewhere on the cruise boards you'll be able to find the photo release to make duplicates.

Wow! That is a little more than what I was expecting. I think I will keep my camera with me at all times and only buy the really special photos. Thanks for the info.

Actually, they are copyrighted. And that is why you do need to download the release to make the copies. Once you have that it isn't any problem (provided your local photo place has their head on straight!) to make all the copies you want!

I purchased the 20 picture package for $145.00 and also added a few 8 x 10's for $20 each. I think Shutters is where I spent most of the money on our cruise!

When we were at Shutter, I heard a woman complaining about the size of the 6*8 photos to a crew nember as it's really hard to get photo frames for those photos. The crew member was speechless not being able to explain why.

A gentleman joined the conversation saying that Disney did it in purpose to create the problem. But at the same time they provide a solution: just go and buy their frames!

I can see why many people have to spend so much for the photos. And I am one of them. :hyper:

We had our christmas cards done onboard this past December, and it was very reasonably priced. I believe I got 100 for 59.00? The price was cheaper than a photo store here in NY. Everyone loved the cards - said it was so original. Now I tell my husband we have to cruise every Dec just to get our christmas cards LOL!
