I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the value rooms (I'm specifically looking for a studio or 1 bedroom) at the AKV. I looked on Allears, but they just show the rooms and give the room number so I don't know what type of room it is.

I've got several pictures of value studios and views. Here are a few-

Thank yo so much for posting these! Have you stayed in a value or moderate before? Did the room feel as big? The pictures don't look too cramped, just like the furniture may be a little big for the space.

Yes, we've stayed in both moderate and value resorts-Dixie L, I mean POR, was our "go-to" resort pre-DVC. The value studio definitely felt bigger than a room at a value resort, at least to me. It's hard to compare to a moderate-one bed vs. 2, the kitchenette. I actually spent one night at POR this trip, and I thought the vanity shelf was longer at POR. However, having a whole couch to sit on, coffee table to prop my feet on, a kitchenette to get my snacks, made the AKV Value studio feel a little bigger and more importantly, a lot more like home.

We've done both as well...the problems with the value studios is 1) TOOOO many pillows and not enough places to stash them and 2) lack of floor space to PUT anything! We ended up stacking some next to the dinky armoire & then putting some of our luggage under the sink area of the bathroom & then we had to climb over it there. There is not really a good place to put the little coffee table tables (they have 2 little square tables) when you use the sofa bed. SOO we ended up shoving the sofa cushions & throw pillows up under the bed. I felt like I did when I was a kid & my parents had this tiny little camper that made a bed where the dining table was - when the table was a bed there was no place to go. Likewise, if someone was sitting at the table I couldn't go to bed. We recently did a std. studio at Kidani which truely did feel bigger, but there were still WAAAY too many pillows to shuffle every day. The kitchenettes in both value & std. are both very small & could really use another foot of space - there is not room to put stuff away AND use the countertop. The AKV units have the smallest kitchenettes I think of any of the studios. Even the frig's are smaller.

I was standing as far back as I could when I took this. There's not much space between the bed & the sofa - just only as much as the nightstand. And the sofa is crammed pretty close to the wall. The little coffee tables are RIGHT THERE in front of the sofa and there is no place to move them except in front of the nightstand.

The 1/2 size armoire & our stack of lugggage is directly across from the sofa. When the sofa is pulled out into a bed there is only a path to get thru.

We stored some of our luggage in here - under the towel bar & sink. NOT the best setup IMO.

Our "pool view" that the CM at the front desk said we'd have! :rotfl:

While the value studios are a real bargain on the points I would NOT book one for the 3 of us again unless it's only for a couple of nights. We were in this one 3 nights pre-cruise and I actually had it booked on the member discount. It is way to small for a family or for any more than a couple of nights. If it's just 2 of you you'll be OK if you're not there for very long (ie have a small amount of luggage and don't need to use the sofabed). Everything pretty much touches the next thing without any space in-between. This is why I am hesitant to try a studio at BLT - afraid there's just not enough SPACE to put anything.

The furniture is not too big...the space is too small!!!! That sofa is NOT big!!

Thanks everyone. We are planning on going to DW when the kids are 2/4 or 3/5. We are playing with the idea of buying a small DVC contract because we would like to go every 2-3 years.

If Disney keeps putting out massive discounts, we will most likely wait to buy DVC until the following trip when we could afford to buy a slightly larger contract (75 or 100 instead of 50) so that we could do a one bedroom. I was just thinking that if we were going to buy and the studio was similar to a moderate we would do that. (Especially if there aren't any mega discounts.)

With 2 kids I would just plan on buying enough points for a regular size studio at least then!! The value studios are way too small IMO for a family. Somebody would be put up for adoption while we were there if it were me! :rotfl: But you'd be OK in a std. size studio.

That's what I was kind of thinking. I wondered if the regular studio would be a better fit if we decide to go that route, plus then we could guarantee a savanna room.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing! We have our first stay in a value villa coming up and we are so excited!

I managed to put the decorative pillows on top of the cabinet, but I'm pretty tall. I really like the two sink set up! I have a value 2 bedroom and a value studio for a September stay. 4 gals in the 2 bedroom and 2 in the studio.

Are there similar space issues with the value 1BR? Or does the 2-room setup take care of those problems?

Any pictures of a value 1BR?

To me, the value 1 bedroom seems smallest in the master bedroom. There is barely room to stand and close the door to the bedroom at least in the villa that I had. You don't have a sleeper chair to open, so the living room didn't seem too small. There were 3 adults in the value 1 bedroom I had but DS, who had a savannah studio would come and join us for a cup of coffee in the AM, and with the 4 of us, the eating area seemed fine to me.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Now, I figure I have about a 2% chance of being able to book one at the 7 month window. :) Are these usually as hard to book as the value studios?

I really don't know how difficult it is, but I hope you get one!:wizard: Even though value studios are seen to be hard to book at 7 months, I've gotten one a few times through the waitlist when I didn't have enough AKV points to book one in the home priority period.
