Does anyone have any pictures of the 1600 loop or thoughts they would like to share with a newbie??
1600 is generally considered a Full hookup, though there have been report of preferred guests getting assigned 1600-1900... and paying $5 a night more than those neighbors! Depending on when you go, the only preferred loops may be 100-300 (after the renovations are complete). Right now, 100-300 and 700 are certainly preferred loops, and by definition 900-1100 and 1600-1900 can be considered preferred as well, even though they are traditionally Full. 900-1100 are eventually going to be Premium so it would be odd for them to go from Full-to Preferred-to Premium in a matter of months. 1600-1900 are reportedly remaining Full. Confused? Ahhh, my mission is complete! LOL
OH MY. . .I am confused.![]()
We are going the 3rd week of May and when I read the FAQ sticky, I thought it said those loops were preferred. We would rather not be in 100-300 because it seems like a far walk to the pool. Would I be better off downgrading to FULL??![]()
As of right now, 1600 & 1900 are the only full hook-up loops. Why? I don't know, cause they are the same as 1700 & 1800....W/E/S/CaTV. 1600 is a convenient walk to the pool, assuming the pool reno's will be on schedule.
I have a sneaky hunch that Disney will bounce the full hook-up loops around as they please between 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900. Again, that is a hunch, not fact.
1900 converted from full hookup to preferred during our stay in October. They actually wanted us to move to another full hookup loop midway through our stay since the 1900 loop was upgraded and our reservations were for full hookup. Did I tell them "No way", yep sure did. Supposedly it will convert back to full hookup once all of the renovations are complete. 1600-1900 are suppose to all be full hookup, pet loops after the renovations. It will be a waiting game to see what happens.
Funny they would ask you to move mid-stay. In December we were placed in 900 with a full hook-up ressie. The beginning of our stay - no CaTV. 2nd day into our stay - voila! Cable. They upgraded the loop to preferred but no mention about us having to move and no up-charge was ever mentioned. Back in '01 after 9/11, we were assigned a site for a 10 day stay in 1700. We could not get a satellite signal (no cable then) and took a GC ride around FtW checking out vacant sites where we could pick up a signal. Knowing that the 300 loop was preferred, we asked if we could move to site 360. Because the Fort was virtually empty then, they let us move & did not charge the difference, even though I told them I was willing to pay the difference. That was a different Disney back then.
We have a Preferred reservation and I thought 1600 would be good because it is closer to the pool than 1700, 1800 and 1900. We would like to be as close to the pool as possible because we probably won't be renting a golf cart. We don't have a pet, but I was hoping the pets there wouldn't be too bad. I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on the loop.
I really do hope this isn't taken rudely because it isn't meant to sound that way, but as a pet owner who has camped at Disney many, many times, why would you stay in a pet loop if you do not have a pet? There are many other loops closer to the pool that you could stay in. The pet loops are for those with pets and while the pets are generally "not too bad", the pet loops are for people with pets and if the pets bark, etc, they do have a right to do so as long as it isn't constant and during quiet hours. If you are concerned that the pets in the pet loops are going to be "bad" or make a lot of noise, I would highly recommend staying in a loop that isn't specifically for those with pets.

We too have frequented the Fort since 1974, with several trips per year and two years staying 3 & 4 months. During the busier times, they make certain loops "over-flow" pet loops. Since the reno's started, it's kind of a crap shoot where they place people with pets. Rumor has it that eventually the entire Fort will be pet friendly. While I'm okay with that, I know some people that are not.
One thing is certain. There is no consistancy when it comes to pets.
I have cats, and was told years ago by Kelly & Mary at the front desk not to even mention I have them because they do not go outside & are not noisy. That was in '03. I've never mentioned them since, and have never been questioned by a CM when they see them sunning themselves on the dashboard of the MH.
Thought I was kinding??? Looks who's checking to make sure I put her comment in.![]()
