Does he sleep on his own? I always put our new puppies to bed in a box in our room at first and luckily I've never had any problems with crying or sleeplessness. I think it's because they know you're in the room with them, they know they're not on their own ~ or maybe I've just been lucky.

Try wrapping a warm hot water bottle in a towel for him to sleep with. Alternatively you could try what I did and buckle very quickly so that he sleeps on your bed, with you, with his head on the pillow. Cockers snore though

Mine even got used to spending most summer afternoons in my hammock with me in the garden.

Hi Nat,
The hot water bottle is good as long as he doesn't chew through it! A ticking clock near him may also help.

Natalie, he is so sweet. You'll have loads of fun with him as he gets older, between 3-6months old he'll be full of fun running around with the children.
We would put the empty plastic juice/pop bottles in the recycling box and our dog Willow when she was a pup would go and pinch them and run around the garden with them, then sit and chew them.
