Cast – me(Jaime) dh(Glen) dd’s

We decided last year that we would take a RCCL cruise and a trip to WDW to celebrate our 10 anniversary and my birthday. We looked at many different dates and decided the end of November was best for us because we always wanted to see WDW decorated for the holidays. Once our Canadian dollar improved in August we switched our cruise to DCL. That’s when I met a great bunch of DIS’ers who called themselves the Nanaheads. We all decided to have a meet and to do different activities through the cruise. Many posts later it was finally time to go on our trip!!!

November 23rd 2007

My grandparents moved in to our house for the next two weeks and bring us to the airport! We are on our way to our long awaited vacation! When we arrive to the airport we find out that everything is on schedule which is a great relieve since yesterday there were very long flight delays…after 14 hours of travel we arrive in Orlando…both dd’s had trouble with their ears on landing…it made for a very interesting landing. We had booked a night through hotwire at the Wingate Orlando Airport Inn...it was well worth the $49. They had an airport shuttle which was quick and a really good breakfast both were free. The room was nice…we arrive very late so we went straight to bed.

Kierra and Alicia waiting 6 hours patiently:rotfl: at the airport for our connection!

November 24th, 2007

We meet up with our friends for breakfast and Happy Limo picked us all up in a van at 8:50 am. The driver was 10 minutes early and seemed to be very nice. The ride to port was very smooth…we made a quick grocery stop to get some wine and coolers for the week. It was so exciting seeing the Magic for the first time. We got to the port at 10:00 I was surprise by the amount of people who were already there. We checked in and got boarding number 4…we then decided to check our children into the kids clubs and got our pager. We started to meet our new DIS friends while waiting to board…they all had great yellow shirts made which made it very easy to find everyone.

Our boarding number was called around 11:45 it was so neat being introduced for the first time. A cast member came up to Alicia picked her up and spinned her around telling her to have a magical week. She had such a smile on her face which was so nice to see…she is usually so shy! We went straight to RockingBarD and got Palo reservations for brunch and supper. I was taken by the beauty of the Magic…even though I had seen so many pictures and videos I was still surprised how well kept the ship was. We had lunch a topsiders...it was good…however if we get the opportunity to cruise on DCL again we will probably just get something at Pluto’s or Goofy’s and sit by the pool. After we ate the girls wanted to go swimming in Mickey’s Pool by this time it was already pretty full.

Great report so far! I love the shirts and your kids are adorable.

Hey - I saw those tie-dyed shirts in another Nanahead's report :) Can't wait to read more about your trip.

Thanks:goodvibes

Wow...just spent an hour shoveling:sad2: snow...I so wish I was back on the Magic right now!

November 24th continued
...we went to our room around 1:45…it was room 2045 which is a cat 10. The room was larger then what I was expecting and seemed to be in a really good location. Our only complaint we had about our room was that Beat Street was above us and every night around 10:30 music started playing…we could actually hear the lyrics. Sounded like alot of fun.:goodvibes Our dd’s usually sleep with a radio so it didn’t bother them. Now that I am reading trip reports it turns out some of the nanaheads were up having fun on Beat Street:thumbsup2

We decorated our door...it made it easy to find our room...and it was alot of fun getting treats in the fish extender.

Our DIS meet was at the Promenade Lounge at 2:30. It was great meeting everyone I was talking with online.

The safety drill was pretty easy…Kierra was a little upset that they didn’t show her where the lifeboats were though.

We headed up to deck 9 for the sailaway party while Glen put our life jackets in the stateroom...we were very surprised to see only castmembers on deck when we got there. It was great being able to be right up front when the characters came out...the girls were so excited. My favorite part was the horn...it was so Magical! The girls loved it when there picture was on the big screen:goodvibes When the party was over Glen and Kierra went to deck ten to watch as we left port. Kierra was delighted with the dolphins that seen us off...

We decided to go to the tree lightening which was beautiful especially the ending;) What a nice way to start our cruise.

We had late dining with a 8:15 rotation. Eating that late was hard on the children...but it was nice to have the extra time to get ready for dinner. We ate at Parrot Cay...the food was good...and our servers were great. I had the chicken wings and the ribs...yummy & messy:rotfl: On the way back to our room the girls spotted Daisy and had to stop to say hi!

When we opened the door to our room Alicia got extremely excited...look mommy look!

I'm loving your report!! :goodvibes

I have a quick question for you, when you have time. I'm setting up our meet next cruise, but was thinking about having it at the Promenade Lounge. I never thought of Preludes -- I don't think I've ever even been to Preludes! Would you recommend that as a meet spot?

Can't wait for more of your report!

Oops...typo...have no idea what I was thinking:rotfl:

I am pretty sure we did have our meet at the Promenade Lounge. Also we got a great group picture on the stairs by the aft elevators...

Oh thank goodness... I was really straining my brain, trying to figure out how I missed a bar/lounge/club!! LOL I couldn't for the life of me think of any lounge-type seating where I thought Preludes was. Even went through my PassPorter, trying to figure out what I had missed. Decided in the end to blame my amnesia on too much coconut rum. :thumbsup2

Thanks bunches for clarifying. I think we definitely will go with the Promenade Lounge for our meet.

patiently :yay: waiting for more of your report,

The one thing I would do different is I would allow at least two days to relax after arriving in Orlando...since it is a long flight that leaves either extra early or arrives extra late...it would have been more enjoyable if we had a few days to recover before we boarded the cruise ship.

Sunday November 25, 2007

This is the day when our trip go interesting:confused3

We all slept well...Kierra loved the bunk she thought it was the coolest thing...especially how is magically appeared every night;)
Vacation2007032.jpg

When Alicia woke up she said her body hurt:confused3 I checked her temp...but all was fine(both girls were sick a few weeks before but they were to our Doctor 3 days before we left and he said their ears were all better and they were perfect) I was unsure if she was still just feeling a little off from all the travelling we had done in the past few days and junk food she had eaten;) or if was feeling a little seasick...I decided to put her sea bracelets on even though both girls have been out in boats before and have never got seasick:confused3 I tried to get her to chew children ginger tablets that have a "great" taste or so it says on the box...but noway...and after trying it I couldn't blame her...yuck! She got a bath and got dressed and seemed to be fine...she even said she was all better and very hungry:)

We decided to go to Topsiders for breakfast...Alicia loves breakfast and orange juice...poor child got sick after one sip of juice:sad2: I took her down to the room and we both got cleaned up then I went to the Medical clinic...it was still only early and it was closed...Alicia was back to normal by this time anyway...she had lots of engery and even had a drink and a few cheerios with no issues...I did get to talk to a nurse and she asked me all kinds of questions and said it sounds like she was just feeling a little seasick but all better now. Since it was still before 9:00 I decided to let her get some fresh air up on deck for a while...we sat by the Goofy pool and watched the big screen...that is pretty neat. Kierra went to the lab to make flubber...she loved it! We were suspose to meet our friends at Palo's at 11:00 for brunch...and Alicia wanted to go to the club to see Snow White...since she had eaten two hours ago and was doing fine we let her go...I stay home with Alicia and she never goes anywhere by herself...so I was a little surprise when she asked to go...she wanted me to stay but after a few minutes was fine...so of to Palo's we went. Wow...this place is so nice! We were a little late and our friends were already seated. Our waitress explained everything and showed us the great buffet. Glen went straight for the dessert:rotfl: I guess he thought he was on vacation;) I ordered the pizza with grapes...blue cheese...white wine...it sounded so strange but the waitresses ensure me I would love it. I got some seafood from the buffet and just as I started eating...my buzzer went off...Alicia got sick! I felt horrible for her...we paid our bill and left. We might have been there 15 minutes maybe. When we got to the club Alicia was looking fine and holding a bag just incase...she was very proud of her bag:sad2: She thought it was great that they gave her one...I took her back to the room and changed her again...then went back to the medical clinic...they still were not opened...so I talked to the nurse again...since she still had no fever or any other symptoms she suggested I keep her up on deck for a while. One of my fellow nanaheads called when she found out Alicia was sick she brought by some motionez to put behind her ears. Thanks Kim:goodvibes

We had a ladies meet scheduled but I couldn't leave my little princess again...the rest of the afternoon was great! Oh yeah...Michelle had brought my Palo's pizza to me...it was great!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yeah...no...I think it was me drinking to much wine:rotfl:

Late afternoon Alicia had a nap while we got ready for dinner. When she woke up she was all excited about getting dressed up for formal night...I was a little concerned but she seemed to be fine...
Vacation2007044.jpg

We went to the Golden Mickey's show...it was our favorite...classic Disney style...the girls loved the red carpet...they still talk about it...
