Pictures in Posts

I just returned from a wonderful week in Disney and I would love to post some of the pictures I took in my posts. I just don't have the foggiest idea how to do that. I just learned that I can post to the DIS member gallery (cool!) and I have started that process.

So how do I put a pic in a post? And how do people make those cool signatures with pics and graphics?

Geez, am I newbie or what?
