Here are some pictures I took on the 1-15-05 Magic.

As has been documented in other threads, the weather was not great and we missed two ports of call. Additionally, our kids found the kids clubs boring so we had much less couple time than we expected. In spite of all that and the fact that our return trips was delayed 3 days due to the blizzard, we managed to have a pretty good time. The dune buggy excursion in Cozumel was a highlight for all of us.

I want to thank smchan for posting his great photos and his tips on taking photos at the shows, they helped to inspire me.

Great pics Jeff! Sorry you missed the other ports especially Castaway Cay. A good excuse to go again! Can you tell me more about the dune buggy excursion? My family is doing a 7 night Western next June. (I know a little far off yet but for me the planning is half the fun! :teeth: )

Great pictures jeffffd.

We were on the same cruise as you, and also were not able to fly out until Tues.

We still had a great time, despite the cool weather. Our best day was also in Cozumel. The Dune Buggy excursion looks like alot of fun. Did You do this on your own? How long is the excursion?

My pleasure and thank you for sharing! My favorite is the ship in Cozumel. That one, I think, would be tough to get right but I think you did an awesome job.

Very Nice, Jeff!!! What kind of camera, Sony???

His pictures are much too nice to be from anything other than a Nikon. :teeth:

Come on... you should know by now that it's not the equipment, it's the technique. :rotfl:

We booked the dune buggy excursion here:

This is not a Disney excursion and I think I can see why, you need to be a little bit adventurous for it. You don't sign any waivers or anything for that matter, they don't ask if you have a drivers license or if you know how to drive a standard transmission. Basically the guide said, "I'll be in the yellow one, don't get too close to the buggy in front of you, let's go". It is quite bumpy and dusty and fairly long. I think we were gone from 10-4. We have a DS6 and DD4 and they both loved it but they were glad when we were finally back. You can read more detailed reviews here, I read them and would say they do a good job of telling you what to expect.

smchan is right, most of these were taken with a Nikon D70 digital SLR and a few were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 3700 point and shoot.

It was fun, see my reply to LADYnTRAMP for details.

It was tough, there was construction going on in front of the place where I took the photo and you can see the poles to a fence in the shot. Once the construction is done, it should be a great spot to get an un-obstructed view of the ship. It's funny that you pointed this one out because I was looking for original ideas for pictures before I left and in looking at yours and others I didn't see any shots of the ship at night.

I was planning to do some exterior, night shots, but I was on the eastern and the ship left port before sunset at every stop! How disappointing... :(

I did some exterior shots in Cozumel prior to my eastern but I didn't bring my tripod with me so they aren't very good. Good excuse to take another. :)

::yes:: I had to call DH to see that one. He laughed & said what a great idea. I also LOVED the night pic of the ship.

That was the Farewell Variety Show. I've gone back and updated the captions so it is clear what show each pictures came from.

Okay thank you. We did not attend the farewell show, so that explains why I did not recognize her.

First... your pics are great... thanks for sharing...

I'm curious ... I'd love to do this but it looks like we are in cozumel 10:30 to 10:30 and it seems you must be to the buggy place by 10??? Are there alternate departure times?

Thanks for the compliment. I was a little woried about the times too but we ended up getting into Cozumel early because of missing Grand Cayman. I can tell you that the dune buggy office is very close to the port and we waited there for some time while people arrived from their various cruise ships so I don't think it will be a problem. When you make you reservation, just let them know what time you are scheduled to arrive.
