Well we just returned from the BWV's and this trip had some disappointing moments.

First when we arrived at 10:30 AM I was greeted by a manager who told me that we would not be getting our Boardwalk View 2 bedroom room because of renovations. I was so disappointed because our waitlist for a Boardwalk room came through only after 4 days on the list way back in January. The woman said that Member Services should have called us to warn about the possibility of not getting our Boardwalk view room. Well they did not. It would have definitely lessened the blow a bit if I was warned a head of time. And we were also thinking of changing our trip back in February to stay somewhere else for less points and adding a day to our trip making it a 6 day trip instead of a 5 day trip. But the Boardwalk View kept me from changing our plans because I love that view.

So after that big adjustment we went to the pool for a few hours waiting for our room to be ready. When it was ready around 3:30 PM we headed to our room and it was a beauty. The room was on the 5th floor and was newly refurbished. It overlooked the quiet pool. We also had a direct view of Tower of Terror and could also see Expedition Everest in the distance. We had a view of the canal but it still wasn't the Boardwalk.

I'll continue our trip report later.

Did they give you your points back....was it a problem to bank them?

Glad you got a good room.....That is my fav location overlooking the quiet pool....and TOT....close to lobby also.

Yes they gave us some money off our dining plan which was nice but I still wish I was told before I arrived so it wouldn't have been such a downer. The room we did get was really nice. If I get my pictures on the computer soon I'll post some for you. And we did love the view.

Later we went to Epcot and heard some of the music from the U2 tribute band. They were very good. Then we went to Tutto Italia and had a wonderful meal there as usual. After we went on the Mexican ride, Soarin', and Nemo then walked around the aquarium. It was getting late and it was a long day since we were up at 3 AM to get our plane so we called it a night.

The next day we went to the Boardwalk Bakery and they no longer have the chocolate chip twist. I love those so I was disappointed again. I got the chocolate croissant so I was happy. We headed to Magic Kingdom for opening (rode the horse carriage up Main Street which was nice) and did all the rides in Fantasyland except Peter Pan's Flight because the line was too long and then did Haunted Mansion. We figured we'd wait until tomorrow to do the rest since MK was having EMH in the morning. We were getting hungry so we stopped in Columbia Harbour House for some lunch. I never ate here so I guess it was ok. It was around 12:30 so we headed for the exit and went in the pool for a little bit.

After that we were hungry for some sweets so we went on the Boardwalk and got some ice cream at Seashore Sweets. They had Espresso Chip ice cream and I was in heaven.:cloud9:

After that we relaxed in the room for a bit before heading over to the Beach Club for dinner at Cape May Cafe.

During dinner there was a huge storm and luckily my brother was dining with us and he had a car so he drove us all back over to the BW. We waited a while for it to slow down and then got a bus to HS for EMH. We did TOT with only a 20 minute wait and then we all did The Great Movie Ride and Star Tours. We headed to see how long for Toy Story Mania and it was a 50 min. wait. It was already going on 11PM and we were up early at MK so we left and went to bed.

Sorry to hear about your room being changed. What a disappointment!! But those quiet pool rooms are sooo nice. We had one last time right on the 1st floor at the corner and it was ultra convenient. We could walk right from the patio to the community center, the picnic table (where we ate take out pizza a few times and the quiet and regular pool).

Wow, I would be really disappointed too. I have a boardwalk view for the beginning of December and hope this does not happen.

Thanks for the nice trip report! I'm sorry your trip had ups and downs, though.

Sorry to hear about your room change. I would be disappointed if I had Boardwalk view and was placed somewhere else without notification before check in. :confused3 Hope the rest of your trip gets better. Chocolate does seem to ease the pain:rotfl2:

I tried to put my photos on and my computer isn't posting them for some reason. Sorry. I 'll try again later.

It has been reported that the new flat panel TVs are not yet in the refurbished rooms because they are waiting for new armoires. Can you confirm?

We had the old TVs. I didn't even realize that until you asked.

Those new rooms certainly look nice! I have always loved the BWV location, and absolutely hated the decor. It was like they purposely set out to make everything clash! :) These newly refurbed rooms look much more toned down and much more pleasing to the eye! It sounds like you are having a great trip after the initial disappointment. I'm looking forward to hearing more!

BTW- does anyone know what size TVs are going in the studios at BWV, I always found it hysterical to open those large armoires to find a tiny 13-in TV. I hope they are putting in something a little larger!

I love that lamp! It looks like something right out of the Mad Tea Party! :thumbsup2

You got my favorite view, overlooking the quiet pool! :goodvibes

My son adores the community hall and it seems we spend an awful lot of time there.
