I'm not Joe or Gdad but I'm bored so I'll reply to this...Unfortunately a point & shoot is no match for a dark ride. You need a combination of large lens aperture and high ISO, which means a DSLR with a fast lens (usually f/2.0 or faster) is the only option.
Plenty of photo ops to be had outside of the rides ;)
Thanks very much for showing respect for others by not flashing on dark rides :thumbsup2

Thanks and I'm glad you were bored enough to respond:rotfl: I use to work at WDW (not attractions) and know that flash is prohibited but I would love to get some shots inside certain rides or at least attempt to. I know that when I've been on most dark rides people are snapping away as if they heard nothing.........I'll get whatever pics I can from other places and than I'll have some to post here too! I really enjoy my daily dose of WDW photos and can't stand having to wait another 6 weeks until I'm back home again:banana:

Thanks Groucho and Gdad too for your knowlegde! I took photography back in college but thru everting out the window when I left and I only had black and white and one other class anyway. I'm purely a novice.

There's a bunch of preview shots in a thread over in the Photography forum if anyone is interested

Always like to hear from the ONE other Pentax SLR user on these boards! :rotfl:

Can you post the thread link so I don't have to comb thru everything over there, if you have it handy? Thanks!

Deb

I don't know who the people in this pic are. I was waiting for the parade and thought it looked cool with all four of them in their hats.

Princess Kelz - Awesome flower shot!

Jc and Ali's - love that angle on the TOT sign. Really crisp--looks great!

Now for my POTD:

I call this one "AM Extra Magic Hour." :lmao:

There are a lot more Pentax users here than just you and I - there's quite a few on the Photography forum. Don't feel lonely. :) My trip report/preview pics thread is here.

Here's a shot for today, from our first trip to Beaches & Cream.

Ms. Heimlich, I like this one of Expedition Everest...

NostalgicDad, great capture on this coaster shot... love to look at the expressions!

MassJester, very nice B&W of my favorite attraction...

I see a Sigma 30mm in front of a Joe ;)
Yup! That be me... :)

Ok °O°Joe and Gdad, how do you guys get those great shots on attractions that state no flash phtography? Now I know my little point and shoot is no match for your high powered equipment but how can average me take pics with my (in the mail being shipped out today) Canon powershot A720 IS? Huh?

I love seeing your pics and am determined this trip to take as many pics as I can of everything. I don't know if I could take good pics with no flash on certain rides like POC and TGMR. But I know flash is prohibited and I don't want to be rude and ruin it for other guests.
Pretty much what Code and Groucho said... thanks guys - and good summary!

At the center of Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom sits Rocket Tower Plaza - a large structure that houses both the loading/unloading station for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and the Astro Orbitor. I don't really know what these marble looking balls really are, but I assume, being space and space travel are such a prominent theme in Tomorrowland, that they are probably supposed to resemble planets.

I didn't ever catch a set of these guys until last June, but once I did I was hooked, when I did catch them in June thier regular Bass player wasn't with them, thier substitute bass player was good, but I was pleased to see thier regular Bassist back with them when I caught them again in October,
Bassist Dave Lowry is a big Beatles fan and worked a few quotes of thier songs into an instumental this set(Very Cool!)

in addition to his bio page on mo-rockins site www.morockin.com/david.htm
he also has a my space page:
