What is Alaska like? DH and I wanna visit someday. When is the 6 months of daylight and 6 months of darkness occur? Also do you guys have snow all year round or just during the fall/winter months?

Right now is not the best time to talk about how wonderful Alaska is, I am so tired of the snow. Really thought it's great usually if you can survive the winter till March things start looking up, that's when it starts to melt and get light. Best time to go if you want to see snow.
We do have the greatest summers, not to hot and not to cold, and light alsmot 24 hours a day. LOVE LOVE LOVE the summer. We have snow from about Oct. to March or this year May. End of June and July are the best months to visit.
