DH & I will probably scoot over there tomorrow with our bikes & try to seek out clkelley in 2020. (We're only 25 minutes away) I'll have to see if I can find the beautiful & friendly wabbit!!! Are you still at the Fort?
That rabbit was like no other I have ever seen at FW! The rabbit was so friendly. It came right up to my kids. There was a golf cart that stopped in the street to look at it and it hopped right up to the golf cart and put it's front paws up on the cart!
It's kind of tragic, really. It is pretty obvious that it is at least part domesticated rabbit that either escaped or, more likely, was released into the wild. It happens in my neighborhood all the time. We had one in our yard for a couple of years we called Frankenbunny - part wild, part domesticated, and HUGE. It feared no other animal - not even my beagle. Florida, unfortunately, is becoming a dumping ground for unwanted pets, which in some cases is messing up nature by introducing foreign species. Maybe this rabbit is a mild example, but the release of exotic snakes into the wild in Florida is causing some serious problems in some areas.
These are winter regulars & unless they moved this year, they are usually in the 1300 loop. Very, very nice people. I think they are here earlier than normal. Then again....what's normal for the Fort????
Alright Prowler, I can handle pics of the inside of the fort but that pic just makes me homesick even if I did leave there Monday. I think we should hang you from the flagpole for posting that lol. I'm kidding of course. I have that pic too and it makes me want to be there right now.
I agree with the last poster, this makes me very homesick as well. We were suposed to be there now but we had to cancel. I am hoping to be able to make our December trip.

I have to agree that this is enough to make you home sick. Other than the guard shack that folks like to "take out" this is the first "Welcome to the Fort" site you get!
You can go back and edit your other post and add this cute sentence to it so they can go together (how sweet! unless this is your best friend's wife who was vacationing with you, then you're in trouble mister!). You can just delete this sentence after you've added it to the other and everything will match up.
