Creepy/scary things is my "picture of the day"...my niece rescued her dog just as a rattlesnake was getting ready to bite him this afternoon! Not a snake but these things (the scorpion, not the owl) freak me out just as much...

That Feeling

Every part of Disneyland and California Adventure looks amazing in any light or any time of the day, but Cars Land at night, oh the magic and energy. Remember that feeling as a kid, when something was just so exciting you literally could not hold still? Well then you know how I felt this night.

As we know photographing in the parks or anyplace for that matter there are certain “windows”, times of day or night when things come together. Morning light, the low angle of the sun when the air is cool. Late afternoon when the sun is low again and the warm hues of light blanket things, these are the way most of us “remember things” in our minds eye.

Perhaps the most exciting time is late dusk or “blue hour”, when there is still just enough light in the sky to let things separate but dark enough to capture the color of lights and lighted things. This window is short. I think the photo Gods planned it this way. You have to think ahead, work quickly, and may have to come back another day. Which is ok with me.
