Do they have different color tops per resort? Im wanting to take it to the other resorts we will be visiting during our stay. Also do they have the original resort mugs in addition to the new ones?

I spent 9 days at SSR in May.
The only mugs they had during that time were "DVC Spring 2007" mugs....much prettier than the YOAMD mugs, IMO. They are very colorful, with Pluto among a bunch of flowers.

Do I understand this right, all resort mugs are the same this year? What keeps people from getting free refills at the other resorts?

If all the WDW Resort counter service locations are selling the YOAMD mugs, then no one else knows where you purchased your mugs. Besides with these mugs I don't think WDW minds if you use them at the other Resorts, because why else would they all be the same design? Plus they are great for people who do split stays, because they don't need to purchase new mugs when they check-in to their 2nd Resort.

Earlier this spring they were not selling the YOMD at POFQ...at least not in the food court. As far as I know their rule is still one mug per resort and it is not to be used for a second trip. At least everything I've read says that.

You purchase a mug for around $11.99 and are entitled to "free" or less expensive refills for the duration of your stay. The refills are available from the beverage dispensers and usually include: coffee, sodas, ice tea, and hot chocolate. No other purchase is required to get your mug or your refills.
The mugs have the hotel logo on them and signs state that they are for use at that hotel for the duration of your visit.

For an avid coffee or soda drinker, especially with the 'free' refills,
you can't beat it.

The table below outlines the refillable mugs available at the resorts and the purchase as well as refill price. Be sure to add 6% tax to the purchase price.

No they don't, I didn't like this because I collect them from every resort we stay at.
