Just back from a long weekend at CBR. When we checked in, I was asked for a picture ID. I don't remember being asked this on other trips. I was using a AP room rate, so maybe they were cross referencing with the AP info to see if I actually had an AP. Or maybe they do this all the time and I just don't remember. (Very possible....my memory for these kinds of details is not that great  ) Were you asked for a photo ID at check-in?

Hey TTFN.....

we had an annual pass about 3 yrs ago and when we checked in using an AP rate, we were asked to show ID..so maybe that was it. Because I have never been asked to show ID checking in any other time.

What part of Bama are you from???? :)

Im from Eufaula.

I'm almost always asked for ID when checking in, no matter what rate we were on. They ask for it at DVC resorts when using points also. I'm usually asked for it when staying at hotels elsewhere too. I guess they want to make sure it's the correct name on the reservation in case something happens (like the room is trashed).

I guess I just don't remember...too excited to be there to remember these little details! ;) Hey BamaTigger...I sent you a PM

I don't know about Florida, but in some states there's a legal requirement to do so. Hotels are required to keep registers of guests on file.

I also don't remember ever providing a picture ID before, but I was asked for one during our trip earlier this month.

I've always had to provide picture ID at the check in. Since 9/11 I've also had to provide it at the resort gate. At least at the Polynesian. They also checked to see if I had a reservation before coming on property against a list the guard had.

Asking for IDs appears to be the standard operating proceduer these days. They asked for DH's and my IDs when we stayed at CSR in October. Didn't bother us at all.

My husband, who was driving the rental car, was asked for an ID at the gate at the Wilderness Lodge last February when we first arrived. I do not recall being asked to provide ID at check-in. When we had dinner at another resort and drove to the resort, sometimes we were asked for ID at the gate and sometimes we were not. We were displaying our WL parking pass on the dashboard as well. Maybe they randomly check ID's-who knows!

We were asked, but only one person in the party had to show it. Most likely a post 9/11 security procedure.
