Hey everyone....

Just got back from a short trip to WDW with a side trip to eat at Grill's and see the Magic set sail on Saturday!!!

All I can say is WOW. We had a window seat and when I saw the Magic making her way down the channel I got up and went out to the Dock and took some pics.

Even though I have sailed on her 6 times, I still get excited seeing her up close. All the people on the dock were commenting how much fun it would be to sail on her and of course I had to jump in and tell them!!!!

I probably could have sold a bunch of cruises that day!!!

Anyway, here is the link in case anyone wants to take a look. Best way to view is to click on VIEW SLIDESHOW once you get to the site.

She does have a beautiful presence as she comes down the channel. A very classy ship!

We also watched the Carnival Pride leave and although she is a site to see as well, the Pride just doesn't have the classic look of DCL!!!

thanks for posting, I've always wondered as I stood at the front, watching the departure, what it looked like to the folks standing there! Did they blow the ships horn as it passed by you?

No I was waiting to hear the ship horn, but they did not sound it.

The sun was reflecting off the side of the ship because the sun sets so early this time of year. I think the colors of the ship would have stood out more if the sun was higher in the sky. The sunset must have been magnificent for those onboard. The sun was setting by 5:30.

WE WERE ON THE SHIP... WE WERE STANDING TOWARDS THE FRONT AT THE VERY TOP WATCHING EVERYONE AND WAVING AS WE WENT BY. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE PICTURES

tvlcellar....hope you had a good time!!! I was waving from the dock at Grill's and wishing everyone onboard a great cruise!!!!

Welcome home!!

What a great slideshow. Thanks so much. Looking at the photos brings back such great memories of sailing away. It was so neat to see the sailing from another perspective! Showed it to my kids. My daughter was excited saying "I remember that place!". Makes the anticipation of going next year all the more exciting.

Now for the grumping. On November 2nd, you got to bop on down to a restaurant on the sunny seaside shore to watch the Disney Magic sail away. That Saturday I watched more snow fall and the winds blow. Makes one realize the diversity of geography. While Mj stands on the sun-bathed deck waving at vacationers at one end of the continent, Dave In The Frozen North is holding his feet over the heat vent of his kitchen trying to warm his toes and cursing the too-early onset of winter. Life's a bowl of cherries I guess....but how come mine are all frozen?

Thanks again for the pics. I'll be thinking of them when I'm waving from the balcony next year!

Thanks Dave.....you are so right....I flew to Florida from New York (where is was chilly, but not too cold yet!) to take my 83 year old aunt to WDW for a few days to get her out of boring condo (she lives all alone). For years she has been hearing me rave about Disney Cruises and I finally convinced her to come with me and just see what I was always talking about. I am hoping to convince her to sail on short 3 day with me one day soon. She was astonished at how big and beautiful the ship was. She was remembering the cruise ships from the 50's....that was the last time she cruised!!!

Stay warm and keep dreaming tropical thoughts!!!! And remember....from one end of North America to the other we are all still sleeping under the same big sky!!!

MJ,
Thanks for the memories! I am one of those people waving at you from the top deck! It was our first Disney Cruise (6th ever), and it was indeed "MAGICAL"!

Sandy
In another cold place...Minnesota!

Sandy....I thought that was you up there!!! Only kidding....glad you had a good time and for giving me a little Magic before our upcoming cruise in January.

Thank you so much for taking an posting your pics. I was at the bow (or very close to it) at the time. It's great to relive the memories. Thanks again.....great shots!

THAT DOES IT!! We bought the big, padded Mickey hands so my daughter could wave back to the CM's when we leave Castaway Cay (OK, we stole the idea). Now we're going to use them every time we sail. Instead of being the little dots on Deck 10, we'll be the little dots with big white hands!!!

Seriously, great pics. We were probably watching you watch us!!
