We are trying to come up w/ what kind of centerpieces to have at Ariels for our brunch following our ceremony in Italy.

Any pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks! :)

These were our centerpieces! Disney provided them.

I love these - can I ask how much they were? I'm thinking of doing my reception at Ariel's next September.

Thank you for posting this...I love them! I'm looking for something for an Ariel's reception that is beach themed but not necessarily the traditional hurricane vase/candle with shells in it. I'm not really a big flower person. Would love to make my own centerpieces but my mom thinks it will be too much of a hassle to set up the tables (no bridal party to help out). Were those small things surrounding the centerpiece provided by Disney too or are those your favors? Are they candles or little buckets of candy? If you have any other pictures of your reception I would love to see them!

Here are some pics of items that were on display in Fracks last month when we were there:

And this is similar to what I've asked for for our reception in the living seas (2 styles, 1 floating candles the other pillar with sand):

HTH!

I love these - can I ask how much they were? I'm thinking of doing my reception at Ariel's next September.

The smaller ones were $20 a piece, and the larger were $25.
The description on our BEO from the Florist was:
Small wink vase designed with layers of natural sand, sea blue sand, green sand, white crushed glass and irridescent glitter. Place a small shell and a larger shell or sand dollar atop of the sand (shells/ sand dollars can be assorted as long as both sizes are proportionate).
Large wink vases designed with layers of natural sand, sea blue sand, white crushed glass and irridescent glitter. Place a large shell atop of the sand (shells can be assorted as long as both sizes are proportionate)

They also scattered sea shells around the two vases.

Were those small things surrounding the centerpiece provided by Disney too or are those your favors? Are they candles or little buckets of candy? If you have any other pictures of your reception I would love to see them!

Those small things are our favors. We made them ourselves! They were little metal buckets in our wedding colors, added preprinted labels with our names and date, then put M&M's in our colors in taffeta (also our initials!), then tied the taffeta with ribbon and small sea charm. Here's a picture of the finished product!

And this was our sweetheart table. They were $95 each, and then we paid an extra $20 each to take them with us at the end of the reception. (If you do centerpieces or anything through them, you have to pay extra to take anything with you). We didn't mind though, since we were able to put one in our room, one in my parents, and one in his mom's room for the rest of the trip.

I just deiscovered that the Disney florist website has a category on it for centerpieces. They have several different ones that would work with an ocean theme. Looking under the disneyflorist.com's centerpiece category might give you some inspiration.

I'm also planning on the LSS and we joked about the betas being in the vases...but I wonder what they do with the betas when they are done??? :confused3

I just don't think I could do it.

we arent having fish in ours - I mean, what if one was belly up during the reception! How disturbing for the guests at the table :scared1:

As a former cater waitress, I have to chime in here. The CATER PEOPLE have to take all your fish home because they feel bad just leaving them there to die, and after the wedding no one ever checks to make sure they are cared for. Its kind of mean I think to use a live animal to decorate your table. JMHO.

Yea, I've heard the fish often die...or what if they use the bathroom? Not very appetizing :sad2:

My cousin did the fish with a floating lily. The center pieces were absolutely beautiful. A lot of the guests actually took the fish home... some of the fish were used as gold fish shots though :scared1:

I remember whose centerpiece that was (I think), and I know that bride made sure all the fish got to good homes after the reception. And it wasn't at Disney. :thumbsup2

But at that point, Disney doesn't allow you to bring your dog, do they let you bring your fish? Oh good - Bert and Ernie can be flower fish! LOL :rotfl:(Don't mind my oddness - allergy season and I'm getting punchy!)
