Pics MK Sunday July 2

I was over at MK and thought I would take some pictures for those people that couldn't be in the park today. Did I catch any one from the DIS in the pictures?

It never gets old for me and I go quite often. Today was fun because I took the horse drawn trolley with the barbershop quartet on the back. It is great to be able to slow down and enjoy some of the park without riding the rides.

I did Pirates of the Caribbean and Buzz Lightyear. Both didn't have very long lines.

I have only been to WDW in May, and I am shocked at the crowds! Is this typical for the July 4th weekend? Thanks for the pix.

I was thinking the same thing! I have been there in Jan and Feb. The crowds were nothing like in these pictures. I am really hoping that when we go in Sept/Oct it doesn't look like that. On top of the heat I don't think I could take all those people.

B-U-T....thank you so much for the pictures! It's nice to have same day pictures. It makes it easier to day dream about being there!

I noticed that the portrait in front of the castle changes. How many different castles does it show?

Is pirates updated with Captian Jack Sparrow?

Yep. The portrait in the front of the castle changes every so often, showing the castle from a different park. For example, Tokyo, Disneyland, Paris, etc...

And yes, I have heard that the updated POTC includes Captian Jack!

LOVE your pictures! The crowds do look more heavy than just a week ago. We were there the week of Father's Day and got back a week ago yesterday. I'm sure because it's the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Thanks for sharing! Makes me homesick for Disney again.

The new POTC was great. I am not a fan of change and especially when it comes to Disney. But this change was great. The new special effect when you start the ride is great. Where they added Capt. Jack added to the story. They changed some of the script but I will have to ride a few more times to catch all of it. Great job Disney!!!

I think it looked more crowded than I thought it was. I just about walked on Buzz. I think it will be more crowded tomorrow and Tuesday.

You are so lucky to be able to go the parks often. When we went, it was "hurry, hurry, hurry.........get on this ride, FP the other ride, jog over to the next ride" so we could see it all. We did choose to do it this way (aka Commando style) basically because we wanted to make sure we saw and did as much as we could in the limited time we had there. But next time we go (who knows when that will be??) I hope we can do some of things like the horse drawn carriage, ride the monorail around to tour the sites, and just SLOW DOWN.
Sure wish we lived closer, and/or had a lot more money for vacations!!

Yes I am lucky to get to go all the time. I remember well the days of our vacation where it seemed the day wasn't long enough to see everything.

As many times as I get to go it still has a magic and I love it.

Great pics! Loved seeing the park. Yes, we were there one year on the Fourth and it really is that crowded.

I used to visit WDW so often that I figured it would be cheaper to move to FL.

Great pics! We went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday July 1st and it was dead!
It was so great to be able to walk onto every ride in FantasyLand especially with 2 little ones. We even went on Peter Pan twice because when we got off there was still no line! We had such a great day and got to go on all my daughters favorite rides before nap time!

I did fully anticipate it to be crowded but I guess luck was on our side....and we left right before 3:00 (the parade) and while we were on the tram to the car it DOWNPOURED! I felt bad for all those people waiting in the rain!

Thanks, safetymom - I scanned all the pics for my DBrother's family - nutty people picked this week to go to WDW !! Actually, I didn't think Main St looked as crowded as I thought it would today! Hope they took my advice and spent yesterday and today at MK.
