Here now. Crowds are light to moderate, I'd say.

Rode the train for the first time since it's relaunch. They've done some cool things to the Grand Canyon. No spoilers, though.

FYI. The camera on Buzz Lightyear's been broken since at least early this week. Accordingly, no one gets pics or can claim their score. Hopefully it's fixed for my birthday next weekend (the 14th, actually, but close enough).

The pic below is from the newly-opened Big Thunder Trail. It appears that, ultimately, it will lead to Star Wars Land.

Your photos make me slightly ill...we were there Mon-Thurs of last week (7/31-8/3) and crowds were anything but moderate! The line to get on the train at NO Square stretched past French Market. It was a tough few days with the crowds, intense heat, and unusual humidity. We decided we will definitely go back to visiting outside of summer!!

We just had this same experience last week.

My favorite memories are sitting outside at the hotel on our off day...

We were there and the crowds were definitely moderate. I would say 6 or 7. I have been on a 10 (Christmas) and close a 2-3 in mid and late May. And I actually didn't think the heat was too bad either, of course we are used to 100+ temps and we take mid-day breaks.

WonkaKid-what is your high score on Buzz?

Most days the temps were great. Thursday, they were not.

Touring Plans confirms your assessment of the crowds. I guess it just seemed like it was crowded. I think everyone in the park was back by the Rivers of America each time I was...

I was there 8/6. It felt much more crowded than Saturday but interestingly, Sunday has lower a lower rating on touring plans. I wonder why it felt so much more crowded?

We were at WDW last summer with crowd levels at a 10 (and have been there on a full capacity day when I was in college) and last week at DL felt worse - way more crowded. However, it could just be the size and layout of the parks that made it seem worse. The heat is much intensified by the lack of shade, cover or indoor queues. (It's something people need to realize when they visit...it's different for better or worse!) And the sheer number of people is intensified by the small pathways. Again, we usually visit DL in the off season for both crowds and weather so it was a very new experience for us. The humidity was another factor we were not anticipating. I grew up in Tennessee but living in Denver I am quickly becoming acclimated to dry air. We specifically chose DL over WDW this year as we had guest from Germany who are definitely not used to the heat. While in line one afternoon we compared temps, humidity and "feels like" temps between the two parks. It was the same! We also took 3-4 hour breaks each afternoon for naps and relaxing which helped some. The evening that put me over the edge was during a 30 minute wait for Monsters Inc when the temps (after sunset) were still 91 degrees and air does not move in that queue. Considering we had not waited more than 5 minutes in any Fantasyland queue (thanks to visiting at rope drop one morning) I was extremely frustrated. Overall it was a good trip and I'm glad we had 4 days so we weren't killing ourselves, but lesson learned - no more summer trips to DL!

The humidity during that week was unusual for California. Of course the summer is always hot in Anaheim, but that humidity was something else! I live about 4 hours away from DL and we were experiencing very weird, humid heat during that week. I really do feel bad for people who were at the parks then!!
