Pics from my visit to Huntington Library Gardens today

Once a month, Huntington Library Gardens offers a free day. Competition for the tix are like the rush we saw for ROTR boarding groups earlier this year. But I managed to secure one and visited for my first time today. It’s a beautiful place. I was told that the Japanese and Chinese gardens were the best things there so I saved them for last. I always like to work up to the best. Otherwise everything after it seems to pale by comparison. Here are a few pics.

So glad you got to visit! We love the Huntington (and were actually planning to go there soon!) -- such a gem! Descanso Gardens is another lovely place to visit, if you are ever in the La Canada area.

When the Huntington exhibits open again, make sure to revisit. They have fascinating things -- of course, Blue Boy and Pinkie -- and wonderful special exhibitions! We love going in the late afternoons/early evenings to look for wildlife. And, the cafe has lots of vegetarian options -- I was pleased to see that on our last visit.

Looks really nice. I wish I knew it was there back when I had to go to Burbank every year. I hate Burbank, but wouldn't have minded going there if I knew I could get out and see the gardens.
