Picnic Spots???

Hi everyone

I might be crazy thinking this is a possibility near Disney but Im just wondering if there is anywhere to buy Picnic items from and any spots to enjoy a picnic during the day inside or outside of DLP. Im wondering whethere jumping on the train a few stops might be a possibility just to get some good value food as we have to keep costs down.

Iv never been so Im not sure what my chances are but any advice would be appreciated.

Cheapest place to buy picnic food, assuming that we are talking cold cuts, cheese, salads and salad stuff, bread, crisps etc, is from Auchan hypermarket at Val d'Europe - Seeing as you have a car you could go over there easily and get stuff for the parks.

Val d'Europe is 1 train stop from Disney and takes 5 mins on the train

After that you can get sandwiches, salads, biscuits and the like at the little Casino/Relay H supermarket at the train station just at the gates of the park - It's more expensive but still cheaper than inside the park

You can take food into the park and eat it without any pb, there is also an official picnic area just outside the park but most people don't bother going there just eat anywhere they like inside.

there is a hypermarket and huge shopping mall one stop from DLP on the train (or you can drive to it), so yes, you can stock up on food/drinks etc to your hearts content. Its called Auchan.

There aren't any picnic spots as such inside either of the parks, but the area in front of the main park and the Disneyland Hotel is lovely, and has benches and 4 gazebos (2 on either side of the main gardens area). I couldn't believe how peaceful and quiet these gazebos were on a busy Sunday afternoon in the sunshine a few weeks ago .

Next time you're over there any chance of looking in the station shop for prices for random things? E.g. bottle wine,water, milk, crisps, sandwich/baguette etc I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that a soft drink was 2.50 from there or 2- from the vending machine and that a bottle of water was 1-2 or 1.90 for a big bottle? I know the petrol station sells bits as well but I don't know how they compare to each other.

Thankyou, Im surprised at how quick your replies are!

Its handy to know with a baby that there is a supermarket on the disney site and also just 5 minutes away... Could come in handy!

I think we'll take some time out to do a few picnics then. Im sure we will have plenty to eat out but if I can save a little in the first few days I can relax in the final days that we wont end up short!
